Been there, done that. Hate it. Listen, you're going to find yourself comparing the two men throughout the evening; it can't be helped. My advice to you is try to go on this date with an open mind - yes, you'll be thinking of your ex, BUT - enjoy the new things the new guy brings to you. Ya'll might have more in common, you might enjoy the same things better than the other guy, etc. It isn't easy to do, but I honestly believe you can have a good time with this guy. And who knows? Maybe the new guy is the one who IS willing to commit to you?!! Enjoy him - for himself & all he brings to the relationship. good luck!!

A date is just a date. It's not like you are running off to get married. It'll take some time to get over the ex, which is natural, but there is nothing wrong with dating in the mean time. But if things with someone new starts to get serious, then it would be wrong to committ to someone when your heart is still with the old one. With some people, dating speeds up the healing process, so go for it. Have fun.

I agree about the rebound thing. Rebounds can be dangerous and can really hurt the other person. Just go into this as meeting a new friend, not an actual date. I personally don't think that it is a good thing to start dating if you are not over an ex because you tend to compare people to them.

Are you dating to have some fun or are you dating to find the new love of your life. If you are looking for something serious you shouldnt be dating because you have past issues. If you just want to be in the company of someone else and is not looking for anything to come out of it....enjoy your date.

Dating other guys may help you move on and see that there are other guys out there for you.
You shouldn't enter a serious relationship if you're still in love with someone else

Its not bad .. just make it clear to the new guy that things need to go slow and well if you don't have feelings for the new guy .. break it off

Be careful about the rebound. If this guy is really interested in you then it's not fair if your head is not in the right place. Not good for either of you.
Then again, it's just one date. So just have a good time. Spend most of your time with friends and being on your own.
Good luck.

If there is no ways that you will get back with this other guy then go on the date and enjoy it. The quickest way to get over the guy is to start mingling with other guys/friends

Just put him in your subbrain. or in the back of all things. Like when you lose a loved one. Life has to go on!! Do you want to go back back to the other guy? Why did you two broke to begin with?
