I am a B.Com garduate, pursuing the licentiate & associate program of Insurance institute of india.And I have been working as an insurance agent from march 2005.Will that get me the position.Thank you.

that's great you are doing a course for over a year and you do not know what the course is meant for !!!

You could get some waiver in irda training for agents/ brokers, if you cleared the course.

Undrewriters & actuaries have their own specialised courses run by their association/ societies. Do the courses conducted by UK/ US, if you want it to have some value

Type actuary at yahoo search from the links carefully go through the fine print .Well actuaries are a rare breed and highly paid and yes there are few actuaries in India.

Underwritters are a very confidential positions. normally underwritters are from the foreign collobrations. for eg . in TATA AIG . underwritter is provided by AIG. they not indians.
