It is a body mite, it is easy to get rid of with a prescription called Elimite. It is a cream that you rub into your body, everywhere from the neck and down and you leave on for 8 to 10 hours and then you wash it off. Your problem should be cured after that but then you have to 'spring clean' your home, anything that can be bleached...bleach. Wash everything in the hottest water that it can be washed in. Put anything that can't be washed (stuffed animals that you sleep or lay with or pillows. etc.) in a garbage bag and tie it up for about 2 weeks. Vacuum the floors and furniture and then repeat all of this in about 2 weeks in case any eggs have hatched. Scabies is no big deal but it needs to be taken care of pretty quick or you'll scratch yourself to death!

Scabies is a kind of itch which is caused by Scabies Mites. These mites usually lie in unmade beds or unclean clothes. They might as well develop if living in very damp conditions. These are very small mites (one third of mm) which lay eggs in human skin. Thus you develop rashes and itch which gets worse at night. Clean your sheets, apply lots of talcum powder on body before sleeping and surely your symptoms will dissapear in a couple of days.
And Scabies is surely not an STD. But it spreads to people who are in close physical contact with you, like sex partners, mother and her infant etc.

Well, talk 2 me is almost right. Scabies can be much worse than she is leading you to believe, and a proper clean-up is necessary.

Aren't scabies a STD?

Has she been treated? Hopefully, she has been. I know from experience that even after treatment, you can continue to itch for a few weeks. Untreated scabies is pretty easily spread.
