for those that want proof of Jesus' life and His deeds, you can find reference in the secular archives of the roman (not catholic) empire of ceasar's time.

His life and death and method of death and even His being called a prophet of God, are archived.

I personally haven't been there, but they found the place where Jesus was crucified. and there is more proof that Jesus existed than Julius Cesar, and everyone believes he existed so why not Jesus?

Historians now agree that Jesus most likely did walk this earth. There are outside sources by Jews and some by Romans. However, these sources do not prove or say there were any devine miracles. Under the evidence we have, we could as easily conclude that he was the blasphemous rebel that the Jews said instead of the true son of god. Therefore, the dispute is not if he existed or not, but rather if he was what is claimed he was. Your argument thus far is that because he existed he must be the son of god and that christinaity is true. This would be as parallel flawed as saying that because L.Ron Hubbard (of Scientology) existed, his religion is correct.

The only sources that say what his teachings were, his miracles, etc. were written about 50 to 100 years after his existance in time enough to make up stories or change them. There is also the sad coincidence that other figures such as apolonious and osiris had similar stories of being born from virgins, performing miracles, being killed by the state, raising from the dead, and flying to heaven.

Oh, and your question is flawed because nobody can't provide evidence of something that never existed, all that could be cited is that there is no evidence of his existance, which by an apologist is enough evidence that he did exist but wasn't recorded.

Again, like the others here, do you have any proof he did exist?

And you can't use circular logic such as "the bible says he did" because the bible is just a compilation of books written 1800 years ago by a bunch of different people and it is only the books some people at the Nicean conference chose as the OK books. Many other were rejected. So some people- not God- decided what was OK for us to read in the Bible. And then they said it was all God-written and you could not mess with it or you would be damned.

Talk about arrogance. Oh, yeah, your last line is pretty arrogant, by the way. Who are you? I guess you are just trying to start an argument, perhaps for the sake of arguing. May the Force be with you.

The times of the bible can be verified. However the only proof of any particular person who lived during that time can only by proven with physical evidence. Since it is said that his body as well as his spirit rose from the grave, there can be no physical evidence. Other acceptable evidence would be spontaneous declaration which would be the written record depicting his life death etc. This would be as I see it thing, not an as I remember it decades ago thing. I find that in this case there is no evidence of his existence. The Loch Ness monster has more documentation. I believe that his existence is a leap of faith. You believe it because you want to believe it.

Negatives cannot be proved. Can your prove that alien life forms do not exist? All we can do is put forward a theory based on supporting evidence that is consistent with the claim. Attempts to place Biblical stories into history by archaeologists aways arrive at the same conclusion - and that is that the texts in the Bible are nothing more than myths, legends and superstitious nonsense.

I am not a Christian, but am completely satisfied that Jesus did exist and do all those things you mention in the title.

I have been to Jerusalem (on holiday rather than pilgramage I should point out), I have stood where he has stood, I have seen the stations of the cross, I know there is an exact history to his life from when I was over there.

You seem to misunderstand the nature of "proof". If you are making an assertion, you need to provide material to support it.

Yes, contemporary sources make references to Jesus. Modern sources make references to Harry Potter; that doesn't make Harry real.

If you want to head down this line of questioning, I'll admit that I do not have negative proof - and will then counter with a request of my own. Show one bit of proof that Lugh did not slay Balor of the Evil Eye and rise to the leadership of the Tuatha de Danaan.

Anyone can sit here and tell you all about how they think and know that Jesus didn't exsist. However for a valuble argument you NEED resources and information to back you up. I can tell you about all this stuff that proves His exsistance, but it doesn't mean anything if its not backed up by a credible source. What you are asking for is a bunch of side talking non sense.
