Can you imagine being born like that? The only thing you cn do is think. Think nothing that is being nothing will be able to stimulate you.
Imagine that you only have one sense(touch). It would be like being in a dark room with out hearing a noise for a really long time.
That be weird.
Not really looking for answer but , looking for an intresting comment.

Another weird question. Do you think that Helen Keller had a choice when it came to religion or did it all depended on what happened in the enviroment and luck around her.

I would be curious as to whether one would be able to think cognitive thoughts at all with zero outside stimulus. I believe if a person spent there whole life in that state your mind would degrade to the point of oblivion.

Do you mean just one sense missing or all of them? No matter I think that it would be harder not having some senses than other e.g. sight - I would imagine I would have to re-learn how tmake my way around without beng able to see where things are - and hearing - not being able to communicate with other people by speech and hearing would probably be frustrating..... Then I would miss not being able to smell nice things smells like perfumes or cooked food.... But then again you would never have to experience really bad smells any longer :p

Not having taste would make food and eatig pretty bland *yech* Not having a sense of touch would be weird. I wonder what it would be like to not be able to feel things? But then you would neve feel pain when you put your hand on something hot / cold/ sharp etc.

I also heard somewhere (although I can't remember where exactly, that people who lose one of their senses can sometimes make up for it by increased perceptiveness in another sense). I know it applies to animals such as bats (reduced sight but increased hearing) but I don't know if this is true for humans

i cant even imagine what it would be like without all my senses
but as for the Helen Keller question .. i do think that our upbringing etc has a lot to do with our religious preferences ( although not always , not with me )
but Helen Keller was a wonderful woman , logical and intelligent
and despite her lack of sight , I'm sure she knew she was blessed and believed there to be something more to this life than simply a physical existence

How could you think if you could not hear words to learn language, see how lips form words, feel the vibrations a voicebox makes while making sound? You wouldn't even have language. I suppose it would be a terrifying experience if one was self conscious.

Hard to tell. Maybe I cannot feel anything because of the loss of sense of touch, don't know whats going on in this world. I don't know how am I going to survive like this.

Wouldn't you be more like a vegetable? Just sitting around veggin' out in a chair. You wouldn't be motivated to do anything at all.

Actually we have a lot more than five senses. Nine at least. Stuff like Balance, heat and pain.

If you were born like that, you wouldn't mind it, since you wouldn't have known that life could be otherwise. However, losing them after a disease, or accident, or any other reason, would be very disturbing I imagine ...
