No matter what his age you need to get this taken care of. If he is a minor then please have him evaluated by a qualified mental health expert, preferably a psychiatrist of clinical psychologist. There are a variety reasons for these things that could be part of a mental illness and then there are also reasons that don't necessarily mean he has one. Only a qualified professional can help figure out what he is experiencing. Bipolar Disorder, Opositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct disorder all come to mind.
If he's not still a minor then still try to urge him to get help or if he becomes violent you may need to make him leave or to get the authorities to intervene.
You don't specify 'torture'. If he's just calling them names that's not nice but it's not unusual either. If he's physically hurting himself, others, or animals or even threatening it please get him help immediately. If he truly becomes a danger and you can't get him in to a doctor take him the emergency room.

Your son has problems with his self esteem, that's why he's channelling his negative feelings towards his sisters and friends. Have a good talk with him, find out why he's harbouring so much negative emotions. Perhaps he's bullied in school? Is he facing some form of stress in school or at home? It's even harder for a boy to open up so you need more patience when you get him to open up.
You might want to monitor the type of entertainment he's engaged in. Is he watching too many violent movies? Is he mixing with undesirable company?
You need to address your son's issues immediately before his behaviour develops into personality disorder and affects his social life.

He wants some attention and he gets it when he is doing bad stuff like this. Physically torturing his sister could be turning into something very serious and he should be observed in a mental hospital for a while.

Hello sir, you have not mentioned the age of your pampered son !
Whatever it is, if he is young and less than 12 years, maybe can be counselled and corrected at home level by parents.
If otherwise, an early advise from a psychologist may be taken. If the son is a child and you feel that he cannot be tackled by you, paediatric psychologists are also available.
Contact you nearest big hospital in the city.
Nowadays almost all hospitals have psychiatrists and psychologists.

It may be a case of clinical narcissism. This happens many times to intelligent/successful people. Since this person also engages in physical abuse, it's important that you take him to a professional counsellor. There's nothing to panic however. You can read more about this at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder

Check his diet, make sure he is eating well balanced foods. Sometimes reactions of this sort can come from poor nutrition. Is he sleeping enough at night, you might want to adjust his schedule. He also sounds very stong willed, you need to take control of the situation and not let him control you and your household.
