I do not understand where you get the idea that marriage did not exist in Biblical times. Joseph and Mary got married. The first recorded miracle that Jesus performed was the the marriage at Cana. People were civilized at that time. They did not have flush toilets, but they had all the trappings of civilized society

Who says it didn't exist? Jesus' first miracle happened at a wedding reception. Marriage has existed as long as parents and children have. Now did it mean the exact same thing legally as it does now? I honestly have no clue, but most people that I've heard speak on the subject seem to assume this.

Don't you remember the story of Jesus changing water to wine that was at a wedding.
Joh 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
Joh 2:2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
Joh 2:3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Joh 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
Joh 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Joh 2:6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
Joh 2:7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
Joh 2:8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
Joh 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

who said the word marriage did not exist? even if the "anglo" word for marriage did not exist yet, there were words that equivalate to it and others.

Marriage exsisted from the time of the Garden in Eden onward. It was a sacred bond formed by God himself. People were definiteley getting married when Jesus was on the earth, and had been for hundreds of years.

Yes I think so but they were more honest about it back then. Animal sacrifice was required for a marriage, because if youre gonna make a baby it's got to eat something or it will not grow. Babies are not made out of broccoli
