Draining the power would only clear the BIOS password, not an operating system password. If you set no password then you should try using your account, with the password text-box blank.
If this does not work then it means you do have a password, and as far as I know you've locked yourself out. In this case you could reinstall an operating system on the partition, or even a new one, and still have access to your files, providing they are in a compatible file format, modern windows uses NTFS, since Windows NT.
It may be possible to get into the operating system using an in-built password, but if one even exists it would be PC manufacturers and other such businesses that would have them, and they would charge an arm and a leg.
My reccomendation would be to reinstall a new operating sytem, if you don't know how to do this then ask a new question.
Good Luck
Once again, clearing your BIOS password would do nothing, except introduce an unneeded risk to the safety of your system.

This is a last resort but works! (If all else fails) Open up the computer case and look for the motherboard battery. This is what helps your BIOS store the loggin info on your computer and other settings, (Before doing this make sure your computer is UNPLUGGED and turned off, then hit the powerbutton to bleed any electricity left)
Take the battery out of your Motherboard, then put it back in. This will reset Everything....You should be able to get into windows without any loggin or password at all...

Maybe, u have a virus..
I had this virus once.. and it totally messed up my computer....
i don't know what's happening so I first logged out...
and the next thing I knew, Windows is asking me a password....
And I'm sure that I did not put any password....
I restarted my computer....
and I finally logged on..
Updated my AVG Antivirus, scanned, and healed my computer...
If this does not help...
U can try the Escape thingy..

leave it to me babe...yeah
if youre the one who install the winOS you should know the password for sure, but if you neglect or forget it, i feel sorry for you...youre getting old.
best solution:
1. borrow/buy external casing that fits to your hardisk, place your hardisk inside and connect it to others pc (using usb) for you to extract your files.
2. if that is your pc re-install win-os the files stored in the disk will not be erased unless you format the disk so please don't format the hardisk.
sorry im not a hacker but a solution oriented person...
