Some last, some don't. Its up to the two people involved if it lasts or not. For instance you could really like a person you met on holiday and you say to each other you will keep in touch, however when you get back, the first couple of weeks your head is still in the clouds and you're still in that holiday mood. But once you get back to reality, ie. work, you may still think about that person but it may not be as much as you used to. Unfortunately for some peole it becomes a faded memory, especially if you live long distance.
I do know of a couple who met on holiday 5 years ago, they lived in different countries. They kept in touch via e-mail, text and calling, they flew over a few times and now apparently they are happily married. So they do work, like i said before, its just dependent on one thing, the peole who formed the holiday romance and whether they think its worth to continue it or not. But don't be disheartened if it doesnt last because i believe that if something is meant to be it'll be. Dont force it!

Because during our holidays we are relaxed, we forget about our problems and we are carefree. Holidays are connected with having some fun, beach, drinks, a few laughs, romance.
Unfortunately when two people are getting together romantically during their holidays and distance is not a problem, they get back to town and they have to keep up with their daily routine which includes a lot of stress and anxiety. I think that is the moment when everything we were feeling under holidays' mood falls apart and maybe that is the reason why holiday romances never last.

They don't last (usually) because when you are on holiday you are in a different frame of mind. You have no worries to think about, you leave all your usual day to day troubles at home.
Once you get back everything is the same, the finances are still as bad and work pressures are upon you once again. And it is the same for the person you have met all is not as rosy as it was on holiday.

Romances built around vacations, holidays, or events are destined to end when the vacation, holiday, or event ends. Just go into them knowing that and it likely won't be a problem for either of you.

They can last;
I met my fella when I was 14 on holiday on the I.O.W., we had three years of travelling each weekend over 50 miles to see each other, but the distance became too much. I met him again 3 years ago and we are now inseparable

coz you come back to reality after the holiday - when holidaying you're in a different world - plus you can see the person you're with every day and literally life a fantasy life for two weeks.
When you get home, you're back to everyday life and its just harder to maintain the connection.

It just seemed like a good idea at the time. Then both of you go back and reality bites you in the *** and it dawns on you, hey, this ain't gonna work at all! Or it's gonna be too much work (because of the distance) you just can't be bothered.

Because they are formed in an environment that is not entirely real.
And also due to the fact that inhibitions are usually lowered on holiday!
