If he didn't save his only son, what makes you think he would alter the laws of nature to keep you from slipping on ice? Eternal life and an auto wreck are different ideas. Faith in God implies a faith in science and nature, hence you need insurance.

No. Fire, theft, and injury are as much a reality as is God. In fact, after a hurricane dropped a huge tree on my house a few years ago, the first thing out of my mouth was "Thank God for insurance."

No. It implies lack of faith of everybody else I have to deal with.

Having faith in God does not mean that bad things won't happen to you. In fact, in many cases bad things happen to you on this earth as a result of your faith.

You know, I used to think the same thing, but it is kind of like having a job to feed my family. I totally trust that the Lord will provide for me, and you know how he does that, he has given me many talents to perform my job. I dont like insurance that much, but it is a tool that can be used for good in times of need.

of course not. once you are gone, there may be nobody here to take care of your family. God does not want them to suffer financially as well as emotionally.
if you are talking about auto insurance, then what you are professing is a faith in your local government to take you to the hoosegow and lock you up, for not having it.

i think buying insurance is in order to provide for your health care or to provide for your family should the worst happen to you
it isnt about lack of faith .. because we all get ill .. we can all have an accident .. we can all die at any moment
we do not know our future

Of course not, because for believers, if anything bad happens it is just part of God's plan that might not make sense now but will at some stage. Believers just rationalize away any inconvenient reality.

No. In many cases it has to do with obeying the law, which is required by the Bible. Authority must be obeyed because all authority is appointed by God. To disobey authority is foolishness. the Bible clearly teaches this. This has nothing to do with faith.

sure, just the same as buying a car indicates you don't appreciate God's gift of being able to walk.
