Tell him that it is good because you are saving a dogs life. Also, tell him that most shelters train dogs before they can be adopted. Also, when you adopt one it knows how it feels like to be dumped and really dosent want you to do that to them so they will really stay br your side and love you.

I guess, it will be very difficult to convince your Dad.He'll have a lot of reasons to decline a dog: If you've a dog, you've to expect costs for feed, the necessary vaccinations, worm prevention and in several cases costs for any diseases.
You've to go 2 or 3 times par day for a walk with your dog, one of this walks must be expanded. You have to train the dog! Is it suitable with your school and your homework's?
But how about an alternative solution? Here in Germany it's possible, to take dogs from a sanctuary along with you for expanded walks and after that you've to bring them back until the next day!
I recommend to try this solution, because it seems to be a good way, to bring your Dad the evidence of your responsibility!
But don't bring a own dog at home without allowance of your parents, in the worst case you've to bring another dog to the animal shelter!
Good luck!

Just ask the place where u r going to adopt the dog to let u take one home for trial period. Once your Dad spends some time around the dog I'm sure he'll b won over.
PS Weimaraners r Great dogs, had mine 11yrs and he still looks and plays just like a 3yr old. He loves to swim and hike and is great fun, but he does needs lots of attention and exercise. Good luck. Dogs rule and r a great way to meet girls.

Have you ever had any other pets? Maybe try with a smaller pet, such as a hamster or guinea pig, and see if he'll go for that. If you take very good care of the smaller pet, your dad will be able to see that you can be responsible, and may consider a dog next. Your decision to adopt is very commendable. You may want to stress to your dad that saving a dogs life is very important to you as well.

If your Dad doesn't want the dog then you're out of luck, everyone should want it or its not fair to the dog. This is one of the main reasons dogs are handed over to the shelter, or forced to live their life tied to a tree.

Very humorous - as textile taken grossly out of context many times is. and what's the context right here? A human beings on the struggle by adversarial territory from one united states of america to a distinctive, from slavery into unknown freedom; a society wherein animal sacrifice and human slavery are basically common. the assumption they had to stay jointly, had to stay organic and had to maintain generating babies interior their very own families, no longer allowing any seed to pass to waste. the thought they should no longer enable themselves to grow to be 'contaminated' by making use of intermingling with the ideals, way of life or ladies of alternative tribes. in case you check out the ten Commandments in that mild - and the common public of the regulation that follows, (in Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and so on.) is interpretation or extrapolation of the unique Ten - this is straightforward to be certain how needed those Commandments have been as elementary regulations for living jointly harmoniously in a community below rigidity. And at the same time as we are at it, is there anybody right here who does not opt to stay in a society the place there became into no homicide, no adultery, no malicious mendacity, no theft, no envy; and the place there became into suitable appreciate the two for elders and for the worldwide wherein we live? properly?

Accept what your father says, he obviously has good reason for it. Dogs need alot of love and care, and vet bills are sky high. Don't try to convince him. He may know something that you don't.

Bring the dog home and tell your Dad that the dog followed you home. That's what I did and my Dad ended liking the dog so much I had to get another one for me.

owning a pet is a big responsability maybe your dad doesnt think you are responsible enough to look after. How will you afford vet bills, insurance, feed etc?

Your dad has your best interests at heart, listen and take his advice, maybe show your commitment in another way maybe volunteer at a reacue centre and show him how dedicated you are to those dogs before owning your own.
