I have a friend and she is 15. She is pregnant and her parents are making her have an abortion. Is this legal or if not what rights does she have to keep it?

She has a right to say no to an abortion. I don't think there is a legal clinic that will perform one without the pregnant woman's consent. That said, she needs to look into adoption, not keeping it. The child would not have a loving home with the girl's parents and the 15 year old knows nothing about raising a child, since she is still a child herself. Both my cousin and sister gave their babies to very loving families and both are now mothers with no regrets.

PEOPLE especially PARENTS have NO right to make anybody get an abortion. SHE has the right to say no, runaway, go to a group home for pregnant teens. CAll plan parenthood so they can give her info about housing and about keeping her baby. maybe a clinic or a resources at the hospital can help her. she ca always call the cops and they can find a social worker, a home, or family member who will take care of her. there are a lot of programs for teen moms. SHE have rights to keep her baby or give her baby up for adoption.

She needs to see if the fathers parents will help her, if not a boarding house for mothers and mothers to be will be a good place. Please urge her not to get an abortion. If her parents are against her keeping the baby there is always adoption. If they won't see her way, these boarding houses can help her with adoption or even just keeping the baby and caring for it on her own.

I'm not sure where you are from, but here after 14 sex is personal choise and as long as it's consentual they (kids) have the right. Along with that is the right to choose whether or not to have an abortion. I am pro-life. That said I personally believe her to be too young to make any choises regarding sex and child birth. She should think about adopting out the little one and then think about being more careful next time.

Her parents can't make her but they also do not have to help or raise the baby. I suggest she look into maternity homes.

it's legal, and...yeah. i'm not going to get into the ethics of it, but it's legal, and her parents have custody over her, so they can pretty much do what they want if it doesn't hurt her.
