You can always tell a Satanist when they do this in church, but sometimes they manage to make it look like a regular sign of the cross so it can be difficult to spot unless you are alert! Watch out for Satanist priests who may do the covert upside down sign of the cross in particular.

Most modern Satanists are quick to point out that they don't believe in the actual Devil - unlike a disturbing number of Christians. They believe in the full realisation of humanity's nature, both in its bestial and its intellectual terms. They believe in taking personal responsibility for whatever they do, in as much as they will say "I did this", irrespective of its "positive" or "negative" appraisal by society - after all, the general credo of the Church of Satan is: "Do what thou will" shall be the whole of the law.
Ironically enough, when the majority of Satanists don't believe in Satan, the majority who DO believe in Satan are regular, church-going Christians. If we work on the principle that gods and supernatural powers are fed by human belief, then ordinary Christians are the ones keeping the "Devil" alive. So there's no need to worry about the ones making upside-crosses in a vague statement of rebellion again Christianity. The ones making right-side-up crosses on the other hand...

You're having a laugh, right? Have you got any evidence to support this? *Satanist priests??*
Look, Satanists only do the whole upside-down-sign-of-the-cross to wind-up, scare and annoy Christians. It has no theological meaning, nor any independent power. If you let it annoy you, they win. Just ignore it.
Anyway, it might not be a Satanic inverted cross, but a genuine, Christian Cross-of-St-Peter, which is also upside down.

Hello warthog! ; )
The inverted cross is also called St Peter's cross just as the X cross is called St Andrew's cross.
Wonder what the warthog's cross looks like?

if i am not mistaken, there is a branch of the christian faith that also wears and/or displays the cross upside down. something to do with one of the disciples (paul, i think) who was also crucified, but demanded (and got his desire) to be crucified on an inverted cross, since he was not worthy (his opinion) to meet his demise in the same fashion as Jesus.
but then again, satanist are just unrepentant christians waiting to convert when no one is looking.....

By making the cross upside down what he wants to prove.
Why we remember cross, why not the God.
Let the cross be upside down, nothing matters with that.

Its normal for them to try and do the opposite of what normal christians do. They are a breakoff of the church, but their beliefs would still somehow reflect yours.
