ive had surgery last year; my gallbladder was removed because i have gall stones. I am 19 years old. I am just wondering what kind of food should be eating now?

my doctors gave me a list of food that i should and i shoudnt be eating (and how it should be cooked e.g. fried. boiled etc.) i followed it for a month after that i got tired of it...Then I returned to a normal way of eating which is practically anything i want. Im having some weird pains in my abdominal area recently the pain is tolerable but "its something..." its been a year and a half since i had that laparascopic surgery (which left me 4 small keloids) and im just wondering is there something wrong?

I am so sorry to hear you have removed your gall bladder. I had mine removed too. As you know, gall stones are formed by high oil content food. The gall bladder produces bile that breaks down the oil. Now that you don't have gall bladder to produce bile, you still have other organs like liver that can help break it down. So, I would suggest you limit the amount of high oil content food. Eat lots of vegetables and fruits. Good luck.

A low fat diet with healthy whole foods and no processed foods or junk foods. It may also help to eat 5 small meals per day rather than 3 larger meals.

I had mine removed and I eat everything.

My gallbladder acted up during both of my pregnancies and I had it removed when my son was about 4 months old. I feel sooo much better. I was to the point where water would make me sick and make my stomach cramp up.

My mother had her gallbladder removed and she found she had to be alot more careful about the sugars and fat she ate, because nowadays they arent digested as readily.. and lets say she got pudgier. lol. So thats the only think I've heard of.

Any damned thing you want to eat.

My first dinner a week after surgery was baked spare ribs, sauer kraut and mashed potatoes.

Never looked back. And I was older than you are.

Low fat foods are best for you now cuz you wont produce enough bile to digest them properly. Water, water, water.
