one normally powered by two 9 volts. the idea; a stun gun that will not run out of juice in the middle of a brawl. were i to connect more 9 volts, in parallel, with the ones powering the device, would this give longer performance? would it put strain on the system (ie, burn it/me, melt it, or explode)? would the amperage become deadly (a thing i'd like to avoid!), as opposed to just shocking, but not life threatening (i know; pacemakers - but i don't expect to be fighting off mobs of seniors. "who do you expect to be fighting off?", you ask? a friend was attacked by a gang of over 50 assailants, recently, while in a party of 4 [3 men, 1 woman, causing 0 trouble, conservative-casual dress]... a shifting group of these people, in varying numbers, congregate on numerous streetcorners, and the like, in our cities [his and mine]. i'm considering tear gas and flash grenades!). police fear these groups. help! poor diction due to YA's word count limit. other questions to come.

the word limit makes me look more insane than the question, but i'm serious. non-lethal serious, if i may coin a phrase. i don't want to hurt anyone, permanently - the police, though conspicuously absent, during these confrontations, tend to look down upon such behaviour, unless they're perpetrating it, and they have more power and resources than i. i've considered a camera flash gun, as a stunning device, as well, but this has limitations (doesn't work in light), and dangers (possible permanent eye damage), too. i wonder about keeping these powered, as well; i imagine they require a lot of juice. i'm not a psycopath looking for a fight, just a person who'd like to bea ble to walk around his block, at night. any serious help appreciated. anyone have experience with information unlimited's sonic devices? do they work?

i'd need the fire extinguisher sized pepper spray cannister used for bears, out here (in the rockies), to hold off a crowd of fifty - and i've considered it!. not sure THAT'S legal! i do carry, and bought for my ex, a not very assuring two ounces of 17% pepper foam, though. i've been attacked by a behemoth who didn't even notice TWO people pepper spraying him! the stun gun, on the other hand FRIGHTENS people, seemingly on some primal level, when just fired off! i didn't believe it, from the ads, until i saw the expression of abject terror on those to whom i demonstrated it, regardless of gender, perceived toughness, et al.

btw, i CAN'T avoid these people - they're omnipresent! i live in a "deep urban" area, and can't afford to move.
