Ireland is absolutely gorgeous! You must make it there sometime. The stone houses to the castles, the seasides and the Aran Islands, the tombs at Newcastle and Knowth, Galway, Cobh, Waterford, the Sugarloaf Mountains, Dublin...the book of Kells at Trinity College, Dublin -- no matter what you pay for a visit, you'll not regret it.
The castle there in my picture in in the Burren (In Ireland). Another lovely thing about Ireland? It's hard to take a bad picture.

Yes - it is very beautiful. There are a lot of different landscapes here, from the relatively flat midlands, to the low, but dramatic mountains of the west and east coasts, to the drumlins of the north and the karst limestones of Clare, as well as the many lakes and rivers. It's very varied, so even for an Irish person, there are tons of places to see and appreciate. It has a mild but often wet and windy climate, which really works if you want to go somewhere that enables you to forget about the normal pressures of life for a while.

Even with the huge economic developments of recent years, the motorways and the new office towers, there are still many places relatively untouched by modernity. The evidence of over 5000 years of human habitation is still all around us, from dolmens and tombs that pre-date the Pyramids, to Medieval castles and ring-forts. It's just a matter of knowing where to look.

I've lived here almost all my life, and I still love the place.

I used to live there in a former job. Around the Dublin area. Very beautiful - green fields, nice restaurants/bars. The people are very nice. For the most part, old and dirty areas, depressed farmers, etc. around - but loved the experience. If your moving there, have fun and enjoy!
