First you have to realize where it is coming from like your job,a bill or an individual. If the situation can be fixed then fix it. If it is an Individual then try to view their stress provoking actions in a humorous light. If you can't do a thing about it then acknowledge that.

Take a step back mentally (or a break) when you are in the heat of the thing. IE go out to lunch instead of eating in at work or change the subject in a conversation.

Get adequate sleep. Plan some time to unwind in what ever helps you to unwind.

I have to pay attention and realize that I am stressed and what is causing it. Then I can usually handle it.

Hello!! :o) I think the best way to reduce stress is to cut out all hyper-causing drinks and foods [i.e. coffee and sugar] and get into the habit of exercising. Walking is wonderful - especially if you can find a beautiful place to walk. Have a great stress-free day!! Craig!! :o)

Learning to live a busy life of selfless love. When you got out of the prison of self, nothing or nobody could cause your nerves to be constantly stretched out.
At the beginning you may enjoy the assistance to a child or a disadvantaged person in the neighborhood; next may be doing the simple and unpaid work in a charity association, then perhaps a poorly paid volunteer job in a war torn country, and so on.

Prayer and meditation will reduce stress. There are all sorts of lifetime changes that can reduce stress, because it has an effect to our body. Worry, fear, pressure from workplace, family, smoking, drinking, illegal drugs, disease all add stress. Some of these things we have control of like taking good care of yourself, and as much as possible protect yourself from stressful situations. Find a person who doesn't let stress effect them and ask them for their help.
