I'm going to turkey at the end of October. Where are the best dive sites? Where town should I stay in?
Will it be really cold in the water?
(My definition of cold is if I need a drysuit)

Hopefully people who have ever been diving in Turkey could answer, not just idiots who want two points.

I'm an experienced diver (PADI Rescue with 70+ dives)

I'd rather dive with a local DM who knows the dive sites

I have to agree with everyone that Kas is the best choice if you will be land based but there are also live aboard tours as well. This may be a good option if it fits into your schedule as you get a chance to explore more areas.

Here are the links to two of the dive centers in Kas

(they have live aboard)

Kas is great (said Kash). We went there 2 years ago and it is beautiful water and there are lots of diving groups around. Also, if you want to see shipwrecks Kemer (near Antalya) is beautiful and again there are boating groups that go out and anchor near the caves and ships and let you do your thing. Water was cold in May. Needed a suit then and you probably will need one in October. Have a great time.

Kas and Bodrum. Bodrum is the best archaological diving site in the world. But you will need permits to dive to some of the reefs. Yes you will need a dry suit.

Bodrum is the best choice bec even in October it wont be cold and it is the most popular holiday destination as well which means you can find accomodation easily and you can have fun too..

if your coming in October you should probably stay in fethiye, its a gorgeous town with lots of diving sites and is usually still warm enough to get a nice tan. from fethiye you can also get excursions to kas and kemer as they are great diving spots too.

In the sea
Wear a morning suit. That way you'll impress everyone with your style.

The sea's the best place, I find swimming pool's a bit boring and 'samey'.
Just watch out for those harmful rays!!
