Well, to be honest, u have to learn Turkish and get ready for the interest of ppl if u r from the US or any country in Europe.Ppl most of the time will give u a staring kinda look. U will think thats rude but no worries, they have no ulterior motives. When they stare, stare them back:))
The other thing is, there are most of the time all in monolingual signs and boards in the streets. Just the touristic areas and historical places have bilingual signs and boards. Sorry to say no for malls and stores, ohh btw, teh restaurants' menus they r awesome and when u read them u will say what in da hell is chicken translation? they try to say grilled chicken anyways,lol...
Try to move to big cities such as Istanbul, Izmir or even Bursa. so that u would have a chance to meet some ppl from ur country. Brits,Americans, Aussies,etc...
Last but not the least, ppl r great to help when they see u r in trouble but dont ever trust noone 100% even in your own country.
Besides those things , to be honest, u will like the Turkish Cuisine, coz its yummy and also 1 u.s dollar makes 1.5 local money and 1 english pound makes almost 3 local money. So, do teh math and enjoy ur life while u r in Turkey....
Regards...

I would recommend learning Turkish though in larger cities you will find many people who speak English.
If you are planing on working than one of the four major cities would be your best bet Ankara, Istanbul, Antalya, or Izmir However they lack the charm and friendliness that you would find in smaller towns and cities.

if your looking to live in a city choose Istanbul or Izmir, alot of the people from these cities would have learned some English from school etc, and the holiday resort towns speak alot of English too. but if your thinking of moving to turkey wherever you go you should try to learn the language anyway.

if u live in italy you have to leatn italian , if u live in france u have to learn french , if u live in germany u have to learn german. This is the correct answer. My superb Turkish buddy here has a spouse and toddlers and a pair of sisters. His mom lives in her very own residence and could in user-friendly terms visit if she is critical she does all the child sitting yet as quickly as the youngsters get to an age approximately 10 they go and stay along with her relatively of any incorrect way around. perhaps he's only fortunate. She is a stunning exciting lady consistently smiling even whilst she tells off the youngsters of which there are 7 in entire from the three households. So my suggestion is only take it on your stride as your mom in regulation won't anticipate you to be like her daughters and he or she could be forgiving.
