Jamie Oliver has lashed out at parents who feed their kids turkey twizzlers and the like. But isn't he just a foodie snob - I mean not everyone has the time or the money to feed their kids fresh food - right??

come on no time for fresh food? whats wrong with an apple and a glass of water? there is plenty of things that kids can eat that are quick and healthy.

Allowing your kid to drink the occasional coke and eat the occasional burger is not going to harm them.

However....

As a parent one of your responsibilities is to make sure that your child eats a healthy, balanced diet - something which junk like turkey twizzlers just does not provide.

A good diet with fresh food is not that expensive, you just need to learn to cook decent food on a budget, if money is an issue - it can be done!

If you don't even have the time to feed your kids properly though... do you have time have kids at all, food is a basic requirement, that so that's a rubbish excuse

making healthy food choices is probably the most important thing a parent can do. cooking healthy meals doesnt have to take long and thats part of his whole show how fast and easy it is to cook healthy food.
I dont think he is a food snob at all. I think people should be inspired by individules like jamie who are challanging parents to be better at their job as a parent and not let their kids grow up to be fat old sods who dont know what a carrot is.

I'm not sure what a tosser is but I think I get the gist. Hey a PB&J sandwich(on a good bread) better for a child than fast food. How much time does it take to wash a apple or bunch of grapes?

Time-pressured parents turn to fast food/processed food cause it's easier--over the long run, I'm sure it's not good.

What exactly is a tosser anyway?

He is right. Nutritionists recommend natural foods that are sourced raw and prepared by hand.

No, he's bloody right. I swear that one of the reasons for kids being so unruly is their diet, not to mention obese and lazy. I was never fed crap by my mother nor would I subject another child to it. It's tantamount to abuse.
