Why do muslims deny that the holocaust happened inspite of the fact its in living memory for some and well documented, yet they base their lives on a story from centuries ago that has no hard evidence whatsoever?

I agree with noting_to_say and apologise not all muslims deny the holocaust but many do (Iranian President is one)

Because they're nuts. Actually, I don't want to single out any one particular faith, so I'll just expand on that - anyone who believes in ANY religion is nuts.

Think about it logically: are you (the religious people out there, regardless of your particular faith) really telling me there is some supernatural being that created us and the world, and that looks over us day to day, and who has created a place that our souls go to after we die?

How ridiculous does that actually sound?

Sure, science may not have all the answers, but proposing that as an explanation of life, the universe and everything comes across as simply ludicrous!

What about alien life forms (which almost certainly exist, based on the numbers of stars and planets out there). Do they go to out heaven too? Or do they have their own god? Or are we the only lucky life form to have been created by a god?

In a few hundred years (sooner I hope), religion will be exposed for the man-made con it is.

Oh boy, what a can of worms.
As some moslems have pointed out. They don't all deny the Holocaust. As for somebody who commented on the destruction of the palestinian nation - there is no historical record of any such thing. Palestine is a geographic region and, a very few, people lived there - many of them still do (or at least, their descendants). the land given to the Jews that became the state of Israel was mostly uninhabitable desert and marsh. It was the jews who made it flower by sheer hard work. The people of the region had little interest in it until it became worth something. Left to themselves, they would have just abandoned it. So, what are they really complaining about. Their main gripe would probably be that the big M took off from jerusalem airport for his big 2chance of a lifetime" trip. Historians however have demonstrated that he never even made it to Jerusalem. The prime reason for building the gold onion was simply to deny the temple site to Jews on the basis that anything "religious" should be switched to a moslem site and prohibited to Jews out of simple spite. - shows the mentatlity of the time doesn't it.

It has been made into a criminal offence to question the official version.

It is not just muslims that question the official story (see the link below for the Red Cross version).

Whether the official version is 100% accurate or not is not the real issue. The problem is that it was used as an excuse and is still being used as an excuse to extract billions of dollars to support the "holocaust" against the Palestinians (and more recently the destruction of Lebanon).

Palestine has been "wiped off the map" and anyone who questions the morality of what Israel is doing is sent on a guilt trip with the holocaust story.

Remember, EVERYONE agrees that it was a European Christian nation that was responsible for whatever happend.

If the Europeans felt so guilty, they should have given Bavaria or Austria or Wales as a homeland to the victims. The Zionists had no right to steal it from the Palestinians by terrorising them out of their land.

Excuse me you can't say Muslims deny the holocaust. Just some do. The same as people from other countries have different opinions.
I mean if I heard a white man from England say he denies the holocaust ever happened I wouldn't then say "All white man from England think the holocaust ever happened". You can't clump all Muslims together in having the same opinions in world history and politics. However I also agree with Nothing To Say.

Muslims do not deny the holocaust. You are correct that there are documents and sites in Germany that establish that the holocaust did take place.
Some people, not necessarily Muslims, question the exclusivity claimed. People point out that Gypsies and Poles were also meted out with the same treatment. There are some English and western scholars who claim this.
I would however like to know as to how a people who underwent the holocaust do the same to the Palestinians living around and with them.

The majority of Muslims do not deny the holocaust ever happened. It was a historical event.

Some deny it not because they don't believe it happened, but to piss off the Jews.

I personally don't think that is a good idea, but to each his own.

just as people should not generalise about jews (there are those who are zionist and those who are not, etc) you should also not generalise about muslims either (there are some who deny and some who do not, etc).

in this same way there are people of many faiths as well as people of no faith who deny the holocaust.

instead of opening your eyes to this broader view you choose to attack what muslims believe as based "on a story from centuries ago that has no hard evidence whatsoever".

you should perhaps,in fairness to those to whomyou pose this question, be clear about what your own subscried faith is. teh fact that you have not done this indicates a fear on your part that your faith may also in turn be rubbished as "on a story from centuries ago that has no hard evidence whatsoever" by those who do not share it.

personally i dont deny the holocaust.

but i do deny your right to rubbish someone's beliefs just because (a) they are different to yours (b) you dont understand them. question yes, disagree yes, but rubbish no.

Hmm, I don't know. A lot of people deny the holocaust. And a lot of people say there was a second shooter on the grassy knoll too.

And you know what ahmed, I'm with you. I don't think it was right to hand over the Arab's land just because Jews say "God said this is ours." That's not right.

I'm sorry. I don't know where you got that idea. I'm a Muslim, and I believe with all my heart that the holocaust happened. It was a horrible tragedy. Before you go making assumptions about what we believe, why don't you try talking to us? We are always open to questions, and don't mind explaining things to people.
