I met a guy on-line. He started talking marriage and babies and wanted me to meet him and kept saying he is in love with me. I have never seen a photo of him or anything. I stopped talking to him and he keeps emailing me back saying he is heartbroken and so distraught he has had to take time off work and is contemplating suicide that our "relationship" is over. I have ignored each one of his emails but I thought he was joking about planning to marry me. He is saying I led him on and it is my fault that he feels this way. That I used him and deceived him and that I am a liar. I have never met him in my whole life. He even posteed something on the website about me, about how I am a user and deceitful and that I broke his heart. What can I do about it? Is this classed as harassment in the eyes of the police?

Even if you were to get the police involved, they wouldnt be able to find him. Some people do get attached to others online, especially if they have no one in there real world. You may have led him on in his eyes, but maybe you should have been truthful from get go, place him on ignore, change your email addresses if need be.

He is Wee bit nuts. I hope that you was smart and not give him any info about you, Like Email address Phone #, if you did not good for you, if you did, Change your #, And email address, NO not in the eyes of the cops,. But, depends where you live, I hope that you kept all his email and other thing that he sent you,. it may help you. Check your local Police Station, or lawyer office that give free advice, Watch your back just in case

I've had this too SO many time - and it's always Middle Easterners. I'm not being racist or anything, but every Middle Easterner I have met has been a total fruit-loop. Yes it's harassment. Report him if you want, change your email, etc. It could be serious if he ever finds out where you live, and it's also stalking.

I would assume you have Yahoo! mail/messenger, so just have his name/e-mail blocked. Even if you don't have Yahoo, there should be a way, every program (MSN, AOL) has a blocker. I would hope so anyway, and if they didn't, then oh well. If something did happen, which is unlikely, and the news did somehow reach you, it's not like it's your fault, so don't worry.

The guy is weird. I met a guy like that once before. In the end, I just has to ignore him. In time, they move on. Just forget about him, and live your life how you want. Who cares what he has to say???

I've had this happen to me too.. And i agree with mona, its always middle easteners. Its internet stalking and internet harrassment. And yes you can report him and i would. And then i would change my email address and then forget about him. because if he finds out who you are, it could get really bad.

he's either just messing with you, although in a very obnoxious way, or he indeed believes in what he says, which makes him a nutcase. (I believe you when you say you never met him, however eventhough you never met, he may have become infatuated with you for reasons he only knows)
