It completely depends on what's in the soya milk. Whilst whole milk is a natural substance which has a fairly predictable nutritional content, soya milk is an artificial product where the nutritional composition is determined entirely by the manufacturer.

Read the labels - whichever has the highest calorific content is the more "fattening", regardless of how this is broken down into sugars, starches, fats and proteins.

PS if you list the precise brand of soya milk we can probably find the answer for you.

It depends how much sugar is in the chocolate milk, if you were just having plain soya milk then I'd say the full-fat milk is more fattening than the soya milk.

There is a simple calculation for this:

There are 9 calories (kcal) in a gram of fat. Food is considered 'fattening' if it gets more than 30% of its calories from fat.

For example say 100g of your milk has 200 kcal and has 6g of fat in it:

6g x 9 kcal/200kcal = 0.27 or 27%

Your milk is not fattening. Do this calculation for both drinks and see which has the lower percentage of calories from fat.

PS The answers above are right about the sugar. Read

Are you kidding me? Read the nutrition facts on both. You will notice that the chocolate soya milk has sugar. How many grams of sugar per serving? As much as a soda? Always remember: products containing high levels of sugar contribute to excess fat storage. Extra sugar in your body turns into fat! Don't be fooled.
