Buddha's and Jesus' teachings are quite compatible with the modern world. They are non violent. Muhammad uses force against non believers and explains how to fight your enemies.
Buddha says that your deeds will lead to your destination, good or bad. Jesus says Divine Grace will save you from your deeds and you should try to love your neighbor as yourself. Muhammad says that everything is the will of God, and that Muhammad is his last Prophet.
Buddhism allows for scientific thought and a changing theology based on the discovery of new truths. Christianity has become dogmatic and argumentative, and adversarial to scientific advances that seem at odds with the Bible. Islam, which at one time was the the most advanced religion scientifically, seems to be more and more conservative, less flexible, and at odds with scientific methods.
Conservatism, whether Christian, Islamic, Judaic, or Buddhist, will not provide the answers to overpopulation, viral mutation, energy depletion, water purification, HIV, nor the shortage of educated populations.
The answers to those problems are not found in the Bible, the Talmud, the Koran, nor Buddhist scriptures. As long as people focus their energies on proving one book better than another, the faster the ecological and social disasters will arrive.
Mankind has many faces and beliefs. Only by working together will mankind survive as a species. Yes. It is a test.

I can tell you all you really need is in the Bible unfortunately it takes study on your own to get evrything it has to offer, but the Qur'an is more specific and it says Jesus is the Mesiah. Budha is a philosophy with good guidance. Peace comes from ashurance about your position and as far as I know the only one giving out assurance today is Jesus.

That's a hard question to ask. They all have their good points.
Buddha. (Gautama Satava) Taught a way to obtain a better way of life. He had a lot of the same teachings as Confucius & Hindu.
Jesus (Joshua Ben Nazarene) Taught a way to obtain a better way of life. He had a lot of the same teachings as The Buddha & Judism.
Mohamed (I don't know his real name) Taught a way to obtain a better way of life. He had a lot of the same teachings as Jesus & Judism
Do you see a patten here?
Somewhere along the way it has all been corrupted by people seeking the power to control the masses.

oh subliminal messaging lol BUDDHA in capitals
actually the teachings of all 3 are wonderful teachings ..
but in order to answer your question properly i would have to say Buddha
to avoid suffering one has to learn that there is suffering that is unavoidable .... but one has to learn how to cope and deal with suffering
the teachings of Buddha concentrate on the here and now .. on the person and their character ...helping to build that character and strengthen the person
so it isn't about avoiding the suffering .. its about not allowing that suffering to affect you in a negative way

I really think the answer is ones self.
You can draw on what you read about religious figures, but when it comes right down to it, if your honest with yourself, you know best what causes you to suffer and what makes you feel good. There is something inherent in us that just knows. Maybe the God of your choice is inside you.

Jesus, then Mohammed, then Buddha.
Jesus because He is responsible for my salvation, Mohommed because he taught of God and then Buddha because he showed me how to look at things in more than one light.....not only that, but buddha makes me look skinny...

Instead of looking at the past, my proposition is to try to create a living relationship with the Spirit, unless one is comfortable with what is extended by the many
