First I must say that I lived in NY during the attacks. However instead of pinning a flag on my nipple to show every passer-by what a patriot I am, I asked "why did this happen". This clearly is a result of our blind support for Isreal, our invasion and occupation of muslim holly grounds (they seem to get a bit touchy about that). My question is why are we supported Isreal and sent them bombs to wage so many blood thirsty wars? Why after 2 Isreali attacks on American warships do we still write them billion dollar cheques? Surely this money could be putto better use (we have a trillion dollar deficit) Why do we pay isreal to piss off our enemies and kill our citizens? It doesn't make sense

Ummmmmmmm......Israel+America+Democratic Society+Fighting Terrorism+Money+Weapons all sounds like friendship to me. And, oh by the way if you study the Osama bin Laden tapes, and do some investigative reading you will suddenly discover that:

Osama bin Laden attempted to eliminate the Saudi Royal Family and had his assets frozen and citizenship revoked.

That Osama bin Laden received an official decree from Islamic Clerics that he could start an offensive Jihad against the west.

America was attacked. Your American right?

That a plan to hit targets in America goes back to the early 1990's.

Yes, the King of Saudi Arabia allowed US Troops in his country to prevent them from being raped and slaughtered by the Iraqi Republican Guard. No troops were stationed even close to the 2 Holy Mosque. When asked to leave Saudi Arabia, the US Military left, without one incident involving violation of Islamic Law.

A freak naval accident resulted in an Israel Submarine firing on a US Destroyer in the late 1960's.

Yes, we have a big deficit, but we also can cover the deficit with our gold reserve...and even get an ice cream!

War is an extension of politics. Always was, and always will be.

Do you think Osama bin Laden would stop if we told the Israeli Ambassador to leave the US?

Blind support. We support Israel very overtly.

And don't worry about pinning an American Flag on your coat, shirt, etc., we have enough real patriots without you.

God Bless America (but not you)

One thing has nothing to do with the other. You can and should ask "why did this happen?" I lived across the street from the WTC on 9/11, I have images of horror I'll never be able to block from my mind, but I can't blame it on Israel or anything other than extreme Muslims wanting to eradicate American infidels. America is not a terrorist in the truest context, right now we're being a spoiled baby bully, but you can't blame that on Israel either. No I'm guessing we do a good enough job of pissing Islamic fascists on our own, without Israel's help.

PS I have to say I get quite a kick out of responses that say that the US responds by bombing the hell out the people that did this to us. It was nice that we retaliated aginst Afghanistan for a nano second until short term memory loss George Bush decided to change the scope of war...and go after Iraq which um has NOTHING to do with the war on terror, as all of us incredibly stupid liberals have been saying since day one. Now W says it, Rumsfield says it, all the Republican Senators running for re-election admit it. The republicans are the epitome of "cut and run" they changed focuse from Afghanistan where we had a tangible problem, shifted that to Iraq, where we just didn't like the leader, and after 5 years of trying to convince America that our presence in Iraq is to fight the war on terror, realized that we weren't buying it so are now recanting. Fortunately for them Republicans have a short memory so they just kind of go with the latest flow!

We didn't invade any "Muslim holy grounds" until AFTER 9/11.

And we support Israel because people like you would join with Syria, Egypt and other Arab states to march every Jew in that country right into the Mediterranean Sea if you could.

Israel has never attacked us.

BTW, there's no such thing as "Muslim holy grounds." So long as they perpetrate murder of civilians in the name of Allah and their so-called "religion of peace," they defile the very ground they claim to honor.

Should have pinned the flag thru your ears friend. Would have caused less damage! Research your facts if you want to find out why this happened, don't make blind ideological statements. Read Nonirapthas answer closely. Nice to see people who are living tell us something. Not some silly college kid with a life experience of zero.

Obviously you're not an American citizen, so your opinion means nothing to us.

"We" didn't have a trillion dollar deficit until after 9/11. Thanks to our enemies, it made this war necessary. If Clinton would have been proactive, we might not be in this mess.

Of course everyone asked "why did this happen" - and our reply is to bomb the hell out of the people responsible.

We will continue to do so until the job is done.

Iam an Iraqi and i can say that you are not american. Thses ideas are of some freaks living around me "the nationalists" .
America didn't go to the "holly ground of muslims" by herself. Don't forget that "muslim holly ground rulers" invited USArmy to liberate thier land from Saddam invation t Kwait and they stayed there "Iraq, Afganistan,Qatar, Saudia and Bahrain" cause the UN reslution ,rulers and the goverments of the Mu.-holylands asked them to.

You seem to be the product of one of our many fine north-eastern liberal colleges. Please ask Professor "I never served in the military" to name ONE, just ONE, American who has been documented to claim that they are proud and honored that their child strapped a bomb on their body and killed innocent people when they blew them self up.

An Israeli statesman (whose name escapes me at the moment, sorry) once said "There will be peace in the middle east ONLY then the Muslims learn to love their children more than they hate their enemies."

FDR took all the Jews liberated from Germany and sent them to The Middle East. Of course, all were from there in genealogy, but the Arabs suddenly had their lands taken over and their lives made much worse because of that. It's not like they have the space that the USA has over there! Since then, we have been allies with the Israelis. We also protect our oil interests over there.

So I think maybe the support is because of the Israeli democracy, the interest in keeping our oil interests protected, and a support of a people we uprooted, refused from living on our soil, and basically dumped in a dangerous spot.

It's complicated!
