I am starting a new job PR job on Monday and really want to look the part (ie more sophisticated). I have a hairdressing appointment booked for midday. Should I cut my long blonde hair and go for a more chic look? Or should I hang onto my youth for just a little longer?

Don't cut your hair!!! You will regret it later. Long hair is much more sophisticated, and you can do a lot more with it. If you want to look more work like wear it in a french braid, a bun or an upsweep or a sleek low pony. Then you can wear it differently for going out.
Why give up your self for work???
You don't have to look like a guy to get a good job.
I have waist length hair, wear it in a variety of styles straight to braided to curly and it has not hurt me professionally at all. I get compliments on it all the time and people think I am 10 years younger than I am, ( I'm 38 and have three kids !) I'm an assistant principal, and have owned my own businesses so it has not bothered me professionally.
I do always dress well though and I'm always neat etc. I wear a lot of the black NY sophisticated styles which goes well with my copper blond.

Don't turn yourself into a clone just to get ahead, keep your individuality.
You obviously GOT the job with your present looks!!!!!

No, keep your long hair. You can still look chic and sophisticated if you have it scraped back in a ponytail or bun at the nape of the neck.

Being in PR, it is nice to be able to have choices with your hair and you can do more with long hair.

Good luck in your new job.

Wear your hair as you had it during your interview. On Monday you will have more things on your mind than if your hair is OK. As you settle in you can then make that decision, those new work colleagues may also have an opinion. The people who interviewed you accepted you as you were, for how they felt you could accomplish the responsibilities that go with the job, not for how you hair will look so please don't worry unduly about it.

Hope all goes well.

Ask your stylist for more opinion. A new style not only got to suit your face, but your new job as well. First, try wearing long, if you think short hair suit better, then cut it later. As I take a longer time to grow to the length you want than cutting it short.

I would hang fire. You may not even like the job, and you have the option of up/down etc. give it a fortnight and see if you want to strangle your new boss or not, then decide.

well, it all depends on the parts of you, you are wanting to accentuate...

many women go with the long hair and tie it back in a "severe" look... with glasses, to look professional and that looks good... with the right outfit...

if you are wanting to cut it, you must decide it that is the best look for you...

You got the job based on what you looked liked at the interview. Look like that on your first day. Change at your peril!
