Ok, supposedly from what I gather, most Christians believe that young children and people who never had the opportunity to know God are spared from Hell when they die because they can't be punished for what they were never taught.
So, if that's the case, then why do Christians insist on spreading the word of God as missionaries/door to door/and such. Wouldn't we all go to Heaven if you had kept your own religion to yourself? Wouldn't an eternity in Heaven have been greater than knowing and trying to understand in this life?

I'm perfectly happy without religion though. If anything, I think it causes more confusion and frustration trying to understand.
And one verse I could find at the moment...
"Moreover your little ones and your children, who you say will be victims, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it and they shall possess it" (Deuteronomy 1: 39).

I'm not bashing anyone PJ, I'm simply asking a question because I want to know what would motivate people to spread their religion if even eternal happiness in Heaven for humanity won't stop them.

It is unfair to ask believers to give a coherent and rational explanation for their beliefs since there isn't any - belief depends on having a mind closed to reason.

Children, yes are spared from "Hell", but every man/woman has evidence of God all around for which to draw conclusions and His laws are universal..it is our interaction with each other that condemns us..Not our belief in God. You can believe and know of God all you want..but if you have no love for your fellow man then you are lost. 3/4ths of the world live in tyranny and violence and exploitation. The message of Christ, the Gospel isn't just to secure a persons place in "heaven" and escape the fires of "hell" (these are also biblical misnomers - man's doctrine vs the Bible) but to ease pain and suffering where ever it will be preached. Look at all the regions of the world and see that where ever there are Christians doing the will of God, there is healing, ministry, an ease of starvation, clothing, shelter, medicine and education. Missions just to spread the Gospel are empty with the works of faith that go along...we are His Hands and His Feet. The Gospel isn't just about saving your soul for eternity..that is the ultimate outreach to be sure..but as well it is there to give people an avenue to God, because no one goes to the Father except through Christ, in order to be freed from this world and the burdens it places so heavily on the backs of men. Drugs, alcohol, sexual sin, crime, violence, sedition...etc. Look at prison ministries..there are many stories of men and women who have gone in with no hope only to come back out on the other side of the worst that can happen to a person and be able to turn their lives around not just for themselves but to reach out to others. Read your Bible and examine the "big picture". Don't look at Christians...that is a deception...look at The Word of God and how it heals anyone who would seek to find the answers within its depths. It goes so much further than just ink on pages..the Word is Alive. Love in Christ, ~J~

Spreading the Good News (Gospel) only enriches these people. The grace only counts if within these peoples heart they are already disposed to accept Christianity if it were explained to them. God's law is "written in the heart".
People who would be inclined to reject Him and are evil are already lost anyway.
For what its worth, this is Catholic Church doctrine. God will judge the individual's heart and disposition. It's not a free ticket for everyone across the board just because they haven't heard, just as it doesn't mean all who have never heard will go to hell.

Well I don't know where you get your polling from in regard to: "most christians"? But since God knows ALL men (women & children included) from BEFORE they are ever "created" & since God KNOWS the total outcome of any persons life, whether it was lived out on Earth or not, then the final destination of any person is the total domain of God alone! The Scriptures say that even a child is known by his actions whether they are pure & right....so the reason that Christians share the Gospel is from obediance to our Lord & Savior, not to spread religion.

Yes young chilren are spared asthey haven't had a chance to sin.
Other people have their own religions or ideas of a CREATOR.
WE need some type of religious training or there would be no semi civalized country onearth we would stil be nothing but barabians making our own laws by the point of a sword.
WE will all go back to the CREATOR on the day of the final judgement when the CREATOR recalls all the souls that it spun off of its body back to it.

it would have been easier for us christian if we don't need to go out there & preach, keep a good thing to yourself & not share it. however Jesus did ask us:
Matthew 28:18-20 says, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Hell and heaven is on earth itself. If you are leading a good healthy and wealthy life you are in heaven and if leading a dull life in hospitals etc, you are in heaven.
