I was just thinking about this yesterday. The main reason is that men are generally taller than women. The average man is 5ft8 - 5ft10 and the average woman is 5ft4 - 5ft6, so that is the main reason. The other reason is that men generally have a bigger build and higher muscle mass than women. Women generally have a higher fat percentage, but fat weighs less than muscle and bone. HTH : )

Becuase men have more testosterone (obviously), which allows for more muscle mass.
But on average, women have a higher bodyfat percentage, and are more likely to become obese than men.

Basic construction of human body comes from the gene.
The male gene instructs the compostion of men..
The general rule is the blood cells count, muscle formation, bones etc etc etc compound for stronger formation and hence heavier body.
again.. its here men can help in basic survival and effective gene carrying capability.
Thats how science of evolution basically constructed this world.
its the same with any other animal.. be it loin, elephants.. poultry.. etc.. etc..

Because men-folk have to do the lifting, plumbing, constructionn work, hunting and other manual labor. Why? Because we grow babies.

Men usually have more muscle mass than women, while women have more fat tissue. Muscle is denser than fat.
