vote. Seems a lot to me they are much like religious scholars that take the name of God in vain and taint the truth with the sweet sugar coated false promises and twisted lies to bait, influence, scare and herd the flocks into a justifiably moral direction . Do the means justify the end ? Does the end justify the means?

Not sure which political direction you are going with it..,some seem to think that if politicans are spiritual or religious they are hypocrits but we have to remember..,religious or not we all make mistakes havent we?Once a politician always a politician..,however in the higher branches of government ie the President..,he cannot pass bills or legislate alone or in this case with the war.He had the backing of many democrats..,Hillary Clinton,John Kerry,Ted Kennedy,Robert Byrd etc..,President Bush was given bad information from the head of CIA from Clintons administration and Bush just kept him on.But remember..,Clinton also attacked Iraq..,was he fishing for oil also?So I dont feel that President Bush candy coated anything..,he said this was going to be a long hard war..,lets not forget what he said and remember what the terrorists favorite pass time is..,killing us.

I understand your point, but consider this about current USA and world politics. The current war on terror is just another Holy War.

Lots of Americans still believe that Iraq was involved in 9/11 although Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11 and the media rhetoric to justify the invasion in the first place was nothing more than a politically orchestrated litany of lies. That's religion for you.

President George W Bush has made it clear that he reads the Bible, prays to God, and that God told him to invade Iraq. Very recently he referred to the USA’s war against terror as a war against Islamic Fascists. The other side, the Islamic Fascists, of course refer to G W Bush and the USA as Christian Infidel Dogs and so the Holy War of Words goes on, like the Axis of Good (Christianity) at war against the Axis of Evil (Islam).

The above is quite mild to all the evil religious words being thrown by each side, but of course, it doesn’t stop there does it. The same sides, Christianity and Islam, are physically at war with each other, murdering innocent men, women and children in the process.

Humanity has a horrific track record of atrocities and killing caused by religion, and this war seems to be no different, just another Holy War in the name of religion, inflicting it’s madness once again onto humanity. Religion is so evil, it has even infected the President of the United States of America.

God doesn't exist. He is used for an excuse to something ridiculous, such as discriminating against homosexuality, deny funding for stem cell research, and attacking a country that had absolutely no involvement in the 9/11 attacks.
