Your body works like this. You burn up your sugar, your fats, and then you muscle. Sometimes that fat isnt readily available and you lose some muscle. The majority will be fat and fluids from your body. Fasting too lose weight is not good because it will not be perminent. You must set up a diet that you can enjoy but still decreases fats and sugars, which will lower your caloric intake.

Much more muscle mass than fat. However, fasting occasionally has also been proven to be healthy, but if you're trying to lose fat, then fasting doesn't help. Eating healthy and exercising will help lose body fat, as well as build muscle.

Fasting slows down the body's metabolism, so you won't lose much weight but your muscles will be undernourished. Once you start eating again you'll gain even more weight because your body thought you were starving. Instead, eat less fatty, sugary foods but otherwise just have what you normally do. Exercise often.
