The average lifespan for a poodle and a bichon is about 15 years so I would guess aroound 15 to 17 years and I believe that you can lengthen the number of years and the quality of the senior dogs health by changing your dog food to one of the human grade dog foods available today like Dick Van Pattens or Paul Newmans Own - there are several brands available at large pet stores like Petco and Pet Smart - there foods use human quality protein sources and a good variety of protein sources like beef and chicken and fish and bison or duck -

all the grains and vegetables are grown organically with no pesticides or chemical fertilizers - excellent source of nutrition for the health and longevity of your pampered pets.
