during jesus's crucifiction none of the apostles other than john were beleived to be hiding. The rest probably got the details of the event from another source. Mark and Luke got their accounts from peter (who was likely to be in hiding) and paul (who only started fallowing jesus a lot later )

According to the bible Since it was passover, jesus and the rest of the convicts were taken down very soon and only jesus was miraculously dead. he was then placed in a tomb and 3 days later he resurrected.

Isn't it possible that jesus only appeared to be dead taken to the tomb. Woke up from the coma escaped from the tomb went to the apostles and then did what any sensible person would do- leave the country before the officials found out.

of course how he managed to escape the tomb undetected is unclear but there can be many possiblities.

one possobility is that he was discovered to be alive when a few followers came to visit him, and they sneaked him out

I am perfectly aware of the story that the romans pierced him with a spear and water came out ... As I began none of the disciples exept john was present and hence am open for the possiblity that the romans made a mistake.

AS for the roman guards.. I used the word SNEAK him past them. Besides later they were reported in the bible to say that the body was taken away by the disciples . though it is said that they were bribed by the officials the writers of the gospels could have had no proof for such a thing.

If you read the whole story you would find that the Roman guards took a long spear and pierced Jesus' heart with it. I dont know if you have any medical back ground, but I imagine that back then this is not something that you just slept off in 3 days. The other thing to remember is that most people argue the fact of the resurrection not the fact that he died. Romans, Jews, and Christians alike all proclaimed that Jesus had died on the cross. And if you would like to talk about the Resurrection then ask another question about it

While I dislike giving Bible Thumpers reasonfor praise using Scientific Methods to reinforce that the Bible has Truth, I will say this.

People should be thinking more in terms of a Riddle and where it was a Mathematical Crucifixion. The Bible was more of Blueprints of what was to come.

If you pay close attention to the "Da Vinci Code," it talks about a Female Jesus Christ.

In the movie "Dogma," it talks about a Female God with Alanis Morissette.

In the "40 Year Old Virgin," Steve Carell is a Virgin and born 8/16 like Madonna, who's the Virgin Mary. So it symbolizes a Male Virgin Mary.

You see a pattern where the Genders are inverted.

If the Genders are inverted, then it could be hinting that Jesus Christ may be Female or that there's something related to being Female.

1) Most people claim that Jesus Christ is Male.
2) The only difference between the word "Female" and "Male" are the letters "Fe"
3) Fe = IRon = IR on = IR Activated(On)
4) All the Letters in CHRIST add up to 77, which is IR on the Periodic Table
5) Fe = IRon = IR on = Christ Activated

So if Christ is Female, then it means there's a Woman involved.

1) The Crucifix looks like Lowercase "T"
2) T = 20th Letter
3) 20 = XX in Roman Numerals
4) XX = Female DNA Strand

If you pay close attention to the Crucifix it had "INRI"

1) RI = IR Backward
2) C+H+R+I+S+T = 77 = IR on the Periodic Table
3) Christ also has "RI" inside
4) RI = Rhode Island
5) Rhode Island was inducted 5/29
6) John F. Kennedy was born 5/29
7) JFK was the youngest President
8) Marilyn Monroe = Initials MM = Mary Magdalene

If Jesus Christ was the youngest and King, that would translate over to being the youngest President of the United States.

1) Wisconsin was inducted 5/29
2) Wisconsin is the Dairy State
3) Dairy = Da/IR-y = Giving(Da-Spanish) IR Male(Y)

That IR manifests itself once again:

- Rhode Island = th(IR)teenth State
- Wisconscin = th(IR)teeth State
- 5/29 = Gemini = Mercury = f(IR)st Planet
- We live on Earth, which is the th(IR)d Planet

So when it comes to the Crucifixion, you could argue that Jesus Christ was someone who had a "Spiritual Cross" which would be a Female (T/20/XX) and here people were making fun of him.

1) Jew = J-E/W
2) J = 10th letter
3) Capricorn = 10th Sign
4) We're moving out of the Age of Cap(RI)corn
5) E = 5th Letter = 5th Sign = Leo = Sun
6) W = Omega/Final Symbol
7) J-E/W = Capricorn(J) Sun(E) Final(W)

It would mean that if there's someone walking around claiming to be "Fe-Male," that would be the Mathematical Crucifix. The people who are making fun of that person would qualify as "J-E/Ws."

1) Rod = Ruler
2) Florida is shaped like a Penis
3) Penis = Rod
4) Orange Juice = Florida's State Juice
5) Jesus Christ was King of the Jews

If Jesus Christ is a King or "Ruler" and Florida is shaped like a Rod/Ruler, that's how you'd get Jesus Christ as "King of the Juice."

It only makes sense because you know that "Orange Julius" Caesar would wouldn't want someone going around claiming to be King of the Juice.

(Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?)

You are thinking in regard to the stories about Jesus, and that's a good thing.

I used to try to fit the pieces together in some kind of rational way, but it doesn't work out as real, no matter what.

Jesus is nothing but a symbolic idea, a compilation of many myths about gods that are the son/sun of another god that's part of a trinity, dies for sins, gets resurrected, and ascends to heaven.

The facts are more like this:

The Romans and Hebrews kept extensive records. There is no record of a trial for Jesus: Also, once crucified, the Romans didn't take people down off the cross. The bodies were left there to intimidate other people.

interesting theory, but the scriptures say that there were two Roman guards outside the tomb in addition to a large heavy stone rolled in front of the tomb entrance to block the way. Also, just before Jesus died, the executioners thrust a sword into his side. doubtful that he pretended to be dead with this as well as hanging on the cross with nails in his hands, wrists and ankles. the bigger question is whether you actually believe that Jesus was the son of God. if not, then one would try to rationalize why Christians believe in resurrection. if you do believe he is the son, then you know that he wasn't killed but agreed to die for man (aka the atonement).

Before the Crucifixion and during it all of the Apostles denied that they knew Jesus or were any where around him.
As per Jewish law all persons were to be buried before sundown.
That is part of the mystery and tales o f what happened at the tomb. All those possibilities have been brought out for examination . no clear winner except a miracle.

There are no rational accounts because the Bible is really just a fake story, perhaps a bit like the Loch Ness monster tales.

When we pass on information to another (example: story, joke, description of something etc) by the time these details are passed on by word of mouth, interpreted by others, and then written down, the final details are typically quite different than the original information.

Since the Bible is just a man-made story passed down over many years in various forms, the chance of it being accurate in any shape or form is remote.

There are people who swear blind that the Loch Ness monster exists regardless of all the evidence to the contrary, but a fence post bobbing up and down in the Loch does the trick. Similarly there are people who swear blind that God exists and the Bible is fact, yet there isn’t one blind bit of evidence to support such theories.

Biblical tales are really no different than Loch Ness monster tales, just the era is different.

Thanks be to God you are thinking. Good show. There appear to already be several fine answers here. The two questions I would have is the "miraculously" dead is fluff in your description. And, what about the spear hand deep into his side?

You really need to do a little historical research! A great book for you to check out would be the "Case for Christ" by Lee Stroble!

I don't think it is possible. All his close followers were eventually martryed because of their testimony about Jesus's death, burial and resurrection. If it wasn't really true, I doubt very much that they would be willing to die for a lie.

It's possible I suppose. But isn't the simpler answer that none of this actually happened at all?
