From what i remember the man was starving, came upon a camp and after eating the meal he asked for his birthright (nobility) back and they refused and he was a slave for the rest of his life.

Esau...

One day when Esau had been hunting he came home very hungry. Jacob had stayed at home and had cooked a delicious meal of what the Bible calls "pottage." Probably it was very much like bean soup which, as I am sure you know, is very appetizing when it is properly made. So when Esau came in from hunting, and asked Jacob for a meal of his tasty pottage, Jacob told Esau he could have it if he would let him have the promised birthright.

To Esau this seemed like a very good bargain indeed, because he didn't have as much faith as Jacob had in God's promises. When Esau was hungry a very good meal was much more important to him than any promises God had made. So he agreed to sell the birthright to Jacob in order to have something good to eat! As we will see, Esau made a great mistake in doing this.

Esau sold his birthright to Jacob Gen.25:29-34;

Jacob get the birthright of his brother that is a twin,
Esau is fleshly, as Jacob by his spirit God defends,
Isaac loves both of them, he is to old to understand,
It’s Jacob to produce the heirs of the Promised Land.

After Ishmael dies, the eldest son of Father Abraham,
Rebecca sends Jacob to be safe in her fathers land,
He works 7 years for Laban, and 7 more and 6 then,
He is ready to go back into canaan land one again.

Jacob had a large family in Padanaram at 20 years,
He loved Rachel, but get 3 maids by tradition here,
Leah and sister, produced 9 children, 8 are sons,
Rachel and sister produced four, last is Benjamin.

As 12 tribes of Israel are born, Jacob leaves Laban,
He mets Esau in Sier land, he faces evil in Shechem,
Rachel dies at Betelhem, Joseph lost as a mere teen,
Isaac dies in Hebron at Mamre, famine’s has all lean.

So they leave for Egypt as he learns Joseph is alive,
He has 70 family members and in Egypt they survive,
Joseph is governor to the king so Egypt is Paradise,
To Joseph dies, bondage is in as baby Moses arrives.

Esau .....

( by the way he sold his birth right to his younger brother... but i don't think he was being serious. Just imagine a teenager selling his birthright as an elder brother for a candy bar!..... but Jews and Christians claim it as serious as it was the only way to justify the younger brother who later deceived their blind father (before he died) to give him the the traditional blessing for the elder son....talk about morality!)
