Some days I just want to cut my butt and leg off from the pain. I hate this pain will NOT go away, and surgery sounds like it would be a higher chance of getting on with my life without continuing to damage my liver and other parts of my body and my mind. What would YOU DO, to get yourself heard to the Car Insurance Company that is saying NO to surgery? I want to tell them off as I have done, but only gets me more upset. They hate me, as I don't care, but they say I am fine and that I can work, but as my Docs, friends, and anyone that has seen me before the accident, knows I AM NOT, the same! How can I proove I need HELP, legally? I have my lawyer involved, but will take forever to deal with, meanwhile, I am contiplating other things as getting surgery after getting a quickie marriage, to my long time fiancee, and then having a REAL Ceremony the Summer, after the procedure, or just continue med therapy.........any ideas or what to write and to whom, to get this pain done and over!

I suggest you look for another doctor who'll listen to you. If they don't, hold the doctor's hand and stick a pin into his fingers and tell him to multiply that pain a hundred fold. Maybe he'll listen to you! Damn doctors are so dumb.

I'm sorry you are in such pain. All I can suggest when talking to doctor, insurance people etc is to make it seem personal, in a calm way. eg "If it were your mother in this situation, what would you do for the best?" It is sometimes possible to get genuine advice instead of the official line.

Marriage - for some medical insurance a "pre-existing" condition is not covered, so a quickie marriage may not help. Check the small print.

agree with first reply, it is probably a back problem, that is what a chiropractor can fix.

Explain your pain to the doctor in terms of the 'pain scale' (one being very mild, and 10 being unbearable). Explain to your doctor that your current pain medication is not working well and you are experiencing breakthrough pain. If he does not change your medication or dosage to something that works for you, ask him to refer you to a pain management center. You might find a doctor who'll listen to you there.

What is damaged??? Back? Nerves? Internal ? Your Therapist should be able to help you through the pain, if not support you in declaring there is a big problem.
