Dedicated cameras offer 3 big advantages:
* A better lens and sensor, for better image quality
* More mega-pixels, for bigger prints (Don't even bother printing stuff from anything less than 1 megapixel. You'll want at least 3 mega-pixels for a post card size print.)
* More features, such as autmatic scene-modes, flash, manually adjustable shutter times etc., for more creative control.
If you're willing to spend a few bucks extra, you can also get much more optical zoom, for more reach with great image quality.

You don't need trial ware software. Do a web search for the camera you have and download the software from the camera site. You can use a card reader, but that requires removing the memory chip from the camera and putting it in the card reader and transfering the images to the computer.

Vote for registration001 and do what he says. Cell phone cameras are the ultimate point and shoot, but that's ALL they can do. Real cameras are a lot smarter and work better in more situations.

the sensor in your camera phone is almost as small as a pinhead.

The sensor in a compact digical is the size of your pinky finger nail. The sensor size in most DSLR's is the size of a nickel or bigger depending upon model.

in 99% of cases the bigger the sensor the better the image.

cell phone cameras produce ultra crappy photos thats one major thing. dont buy a cell phone camera as a everyday camera you will be very disappointed. they are more there as a silly extra so the phone companies can charge you more to send a photo of yourself at McDicks to all your friends.
