first change both fractions to the least common denominator,
8x3=24
so 5/8=15/24
2/3=16/24
if it's a subtraction problem then the answer is minus 1/24
if you really want to multiply then it's just numerator x numerator,
same with denominators
5x2=10, 8x3=24, 10/24...that equals 5/12
and the minus sign too
