A friend of ours bought me a bracelet and in it was this great poem. It should encourage your friend:

23rd psalm is something good to read and believe, even if your not religious, most people believe that there is a "God" or some sort and a "life after death". Read a lot also about the condition and cure percentages, ignorance is the major cause of "fear!"

As a cancer survivor I can tell you that simply hearing "I love you" and "I'm here for you" can be uplifting and inspirational. "I'm praying for you" sounded really good too.
