Just use your last name..such as "Johnson's poodles" You will be getting mail from them (great magazines) , so you need to have your own last name as your kennel name, unless the mailman is privy to the new name..

Do you mean an affix - a name for your line that you include in each of your pups KC registration name (just like a surname in humans) eg, Kilkinny Shooting Star, Kilkinny Raging Bull (Kilkinny is the Affix here and will be used in the names of all dogs produced by that breeder). Most good breeders have an affix so that people can identify their dogs.

If this is what you mean then a good way of making up an affix is to use family names and mix them up a bit, or use the name of your foundation b1tch and add or take away some letters eg. if your b1tch is called Molly, your kennel could be called Mollidor or Mollier or Formolly.

Once you have decided on 5 names that you like then you submit them to the Kennel Club and they will tell you what ones you would be allowed to use. The name you pick cannot sound similar to anyone elses affix to avoid confusion.

Good Luck

You only need a kennel name if you plan on breeding & selling the pups. Just like any other business you need a logo to advertise your business. What type of web sites are you entering? If you have a qauestion this is the best place to get the answers.

May I ask why you are bringing more puppies into the world when approximately 4 million dogs are put to death every year because there are not enough homes to go around? If you are not working with a breeder to improve the dogs genetic pool then I do not think that bringing more puppies into this world is a smart thing to do.

If you enjoy whelping puppies, why not work with a professional breeder that is trying to improve a certain breed? This world does not need any more dogs until we find a way to care for all the homeless dogs languishing in shelters all over the USA.

Please do and visit your local animal shelters before you decided to pring more puppies into the world - help stop the killing of healthy young and unwanted dogs year after year.

if you get a form from the kennel club you can apply for a prefix or affix which is the first part of the dogs name which you can put at the beginning of each of your pups names everytime you register, so then people will no what kennel the dog came from
