Why would that be a turn off?
I am sure girls who can build rc planes are obviously very intelligent.That's always a turn on for a girl who doesn't want to talk about the latest model of shoes.

Let me put it this way. I am into model railroading. RC hobbies to me are equally exciting. I don't know why you care if guys in general are turned off by your hobbies. There are many who do and some who don't. Either way I am sure you will continue with your pleasure. To me having my special someone with your kind of interest would be like having my cake and eating it too.
