I ate pudding, jell-o, ice cream, soups without chunky bits, milkshakes, slurpees, mashed potatoes and gravy, yogurt, pretty much anything I could mash up.

I had all four pulled and I found that pudding, ice cream, popsiciles, streamed rice and bananas were great. You can also try soups, just don't get the "chunky" varieties. Also DO NOT use a straw or smoke for a couple of days. Any sucking motion can cause dry socket which is more painful than the surgery itself.

I was 17 when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I stayed home from school for 1 week and all I had to eat was baby food. I couldn't chew on anything until my gums healed.

Hey Ava,

What I used to eat were oatmeal, noodles, pasta and soup. Try the pasta and noodles passed al dente. The sauce should be very "saucy" (I hope that made sense!). It's best if the sauce is all liquid or maybe include some very tender food.

Rubbing ice at the V-shaped area between your thumb and index finger actually helps. Here's a link to why...

Basically anything soft. Mashed potatoes, ice cream, over cooked noodles, baby food - but don't try to eat the meat & veggie kind, they're really gross, the fruits aren't too bad though. My dentist recommeded milkshakes because they're nutritious & the cold helps numb the pain!

Do NOT suck anything through a straw because you can suck the blood clot right out of the vacant tooth socket! Nothing hard or chewy. It won't take long for the person to heal and do a lot of praying.
