No, it taught me the idea of my actions having consequences.

Yeah I got spanked a few times -- the only ones I can specifically remember were the ones I really deserved (I know 'cuz I remember what I did to deserve them), but there were probably others I have long since forgotten.

Just remember -- there is a huge difference between a spanking (open-handed slap on the butt) and a beating (closed fist or hitting anywhere besides the butt). I'm a bit in between on the use of relatively minor tools (wooden mixing spoon, leather belt) since these were used on me a couple times and I came out OK (and they were used onmy dad and mom and they came out OK), but definitly no cricket bats or boat oars!

Yes, I was spanked as a child (pretty often since I was a little monster) and NO, it has not had any sort of negative affect on my psyche. I'm happy and normal. Kids that are really little don't understand about 'grounding' or 'time out.' The most effective way to teach them right from wrong is to spank their butts. I look forward to spanking my kids.

Yes and no. Yes, because I remember at 4years old I got it with a flyswatter on bare behind by my mother for something my older sister did. She then confessed when Mom had all the spank out of her. She didn't get anything .I got welts! No, because I know I was loved and when this and several other times I remember I knew my mom was way stressed. I tried not to be a spanker, but did spank my own but only with my hand. I never spank my grandchildren-I've mellowed out. They are too precious!

I was spanked as a child, and thank God, or there's no telling how I would have turned out! I harbor no ill feelings toward my parents and in hindsight understand that I usually deserved it. Now that I have kids of my own, I do spank them too, and one day hope that they will see things the way I do now.

Yes I was and no it didn't have any negative affects. I wasn't spanked that often, just for lying. I didn't lie very often and the last time I did I was 9 yrs. old. It taught me not to lie but it also taught me to respect my parents and to trust their judgement.

no, unless you count the time I put a book in my pants.. IT WORKED!! Dad was pretty negatively affected.

Seriously though, No. I deserved all but one spanking I got and it sure made me stop whatever I was doing wrong. I'm a better person for it.

Nope it just remind me not to do it again. Not all children who were spanked was affected negatively if more parents spank their children NOT ABUSE THEM just spank them when they refuse to hair what you are telling them to do it is not bad.
