Maybe they BOTH had sex with Satan, and CAIN was Satans' offspring, while Abel was Adam's.

The forbidden fruit grew as a real fruit on a real tree God called the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
The Talmud (Berachos 40a; Sanhedrin 70a-b) records three opinions about it. According to R.Meir, it was grapes; according to R.Yehudah, wheat; according to R.Nehemiah, figs. The idea that it was an apple is first found in Christian sources; see Ginsburg, Legends of the Jews, Vol.5, pp.97-98 for references. See also the Targum on Shir Ha-Shirim 2:3 and 7:9, which refers to “the apples of the garden of Eden”, but doesn’t mention Adam and Eve.

Most historical pictures represent an apple or pear... The bible never specifies what the actual fruit was... though I think people are correct above, that it is symbolic and it's not the point of the story to get hung up on the type of fruit it was.
As for what the first fuit named in the bible is, I can't honestly think of any scripture that calls any fruit by it's name. But it's an interesting question... something I will look into...

The Bible does not say although most think that it was an apple but the Bible just calls it the Tree of Knowledge and he told them to not eat of the fruit. It does not say which fruit and it doesnt matter. Eating the same fruit, if it exists, will NOT give you power or anything. It was the fact that they disobeyed God. The fruit is not important.

Hey, Adam and Eve ate lots of fruit in the garden. The whole garden was a fruit lovers paradise.
Grapes.
The answer you really want is this: Eve had sex with the serpent and then had sex with Adam.
The serpent seed was Cain and the seed of Adam was Able. Twins. Two different fathers.
People, you got to get this in your heads and stop this bs about the apple. It never happened.><>

No one knows what kind of fruit that Adam and Eve ate. It probably was real fruit, but it stood for so much more.
The fruit that they ate was going against a direct command from God not to eat of this. The fruit came from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Upon eating this, they understood what good was and what bad was, and what it meant to be naked.
I have no idea what the first fruit was named in the Bible

A tomato. They should have know something was fishy, tomatos don't grow on trees!
God tells Adam and Eve not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. If this was the only way they could understand the difference between good and evil, how could they have known that it was wrong to disobey God and eat the fruit?

It was an apple. It was on the tree of life, and it was forbidden to be eaten. I'm not sure if it was the first named fruit in the bible. You know that you could always check out a bible?

Given that the research done into the site of Genesis, which was most likely Mesopotamia (Iraq, Iran, etc) the fruit was most likely not an apple, but a fig- a fruit indigenous to that area.
But I like to think the "fruit", metaphorically speaking, was enlightenment and the power to QUESTION what enlightment, God, and faith itself truly is.

For my 2200 point, I just want to say "How retarded does it sound for anyone to tell someone not to eat a fruit" I mean come on, Adam and Eve were standing there naked, I can only assume they were hungry. Lots of Incest in the bibles views, since we all came from them.

The fruit isn`t named. It was from the tree of knowledge. There was also another tree there it was the tree of life.Man was not told he couldn`t eat of that tree. After disobeying God that is why they were removed so they couldn`t eat of that tree. God told them if they ate of the tree of knowledge they would surely die.I believe there is a deep meaning in this and most likey is a parable.
