If you mean (heartily) the "The Little Prince" book, then it was not invented, instead, it was written by Antoine de St. Exupery. I believe the author is a French. If you didn't mean this, then what little prince are you talking about?
And, if you haven't read the book, please do. You'll learn a lot of lessons, for example: the fox's little secret, i quote "it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the human eye." end quote.

Do you refer to the book "The Little Prince" by the French pilot/author Saint Exupery?
Why could this booklet not have been written by an American?
I can't come up with a reason, so I'm curious to hear what reason you have for that opinion.

Judging by some of your first answers....because they don't even know what The Little Prince is.

But the answer is, because it was written by Antoine St. Exupery which is clearly not an American name...that's why.
