It's still fiction and unless you can prove otherwise, you gotta admit you only believe in God because it's self-gratifying.

That's like saying "how does smelling a rose make it red?".

The Bible would be true even if no one read it.

oh, and btw, how could you call being persecuted over centuries self-gratifying?

BREAKING information!!!! that's not mandatory for a Christian to study the entire bible. They curiously study sufficient to get kept and that is the biggest component. it would not count number what number cases everyone reads the bible, in the adventure that they are not a baby of God, they might to boot keep on with activities Illustrated or Cosmopolitan or another straightforward to comprehend e book for his or her secular techniques. speaking of people mendacity their butt off, interpreting the completed bible would not make everyone an atheist. everybody is born an atheist or agnostic, that's why with the intention to grow to be a Christian, one must be born again. The problems with God are meant for the individuals of God. in the adventure that they don't study it, it would not lead them to below an atheist or agnostic. It in basic terms classifies them as infant or in certain circumstances carnal Christians, although the Lord accepts them besides because they common Jesus as their Savior.

It is not self-gratifying, it is an imposed religious act that one places on himself or it is used to justify misdeeds in the name of God. However, you have offended others by your statement. While you may believe your idea is correct, it doesn't justify casting aspersion on others that find the Bible as a source of comfort. People seek religion as a means of justifying their lives and the hopeful promise of a hereafter. By shredding faith as you do, you are telling others that their lives are in vain. Which is better....nothing said or a criticism?

let's look at the fictional characters in the bible.

with secular history, you can prove the existence of moses, king solomon, king saul, king david, john the baptist, Jesus, mary, joseph and the disciples.

with archeology, you can prove the existence of the countries, nations, civilizations, cities, rivers, deserts, mountains and many of those are still standing today and the cities are still inhabited.

the only thing that you cannot prove with the pieces of paper the bible is printed on is......the divinity of God and Christ...and that, we take on faith, since the rest of the "fictional" book IS proved.

next question....

Reading the Bible doesn't make it true. But you not believing in God doesn't make Him not exist. The fact that you choose not to believe in Him, doesn't mean He doesn't have control over where you will spend eternity. If I'm wrong, I lose nothing. If you're wrong, you'll spend eternity regretting that you never considered it.

believing in G-d is not always self-gratifying. we believe in it because we do, just as you don't believe in it because you don't. you can't control it and neither can we.

anyways, reading the entire bible doesn't make it true. whether its true or not makes it true.

it doesn't..

and it's still not non-fiction unless you can prove it otherwise either...
& you must also admit that one may believe there is no god because it makes them feel good inside... it just goes both ways... really...

just because you do not believe in God does not mean that He does not exist. I hope you will have a change of heart before it is too late

ROFLMAO
reading something (anything) dose not make it true, or else where is the walking dead? superman? the x-men?
Something that is written is either true or false even if no one reads it!

The reason Christianity has been around 2000 years is because it is true!
