I'm a 24 y/o female who was engaged to my fiance' and then I found out that he had chatted with a random girl online. They talked about our relationship, in a good way, but she totally wanted him, and he wanted to flirt back for some reason. A few days before he proposed he stopped chatting with her. Just yesterday I found out from the girl that he was doing this. He lied and denied it and then broke down and said he's sorry. After giving thought to it and seeing that it wasn't physical, i gave the benefit of the doubt. My problem was more with the LYING than chatting. He has been a great b/f to me for over 9 months. This is the only thing he has done that has hurt me, and profusely says he's sorry. Tonight, I didn't see what I used to see in his eyes. They seemed to be missing the love I used to feel for him. When I look into those eyes, I had nothing but feelings of betrayal. It just happened yesterday, so it too soon to just say "this is over, i don't see what I saw in your eyes" ??

You are over reacting about this. He didn't cheat on you and to boot, he broke off the online chatting before anything even had a chance to happen. The fact that he didn't tell you was probably more of him not wanting to admit he did something stupid - like flirt, and not wanting to hurt you. Forgive him and make it clear you want honesty at all times. Don't break up a good relationship over some innocent flirting.
Relationships go through a lot and both people need to be strong. He didn't violate your relationship, in fact he knew enough to get rid of that girl and get back to concentrating on you. In my book, thats a pretty smart guy who realized what his priorities are.

Observe him for another few weeks and see whether did he really stop any on-line chat with any gal. U have know him for only over 9 months so I think u should try to know him more b4 u decide what to do. Although getting to know someone long does not guarantee a good relationship. My ex-husband & I know each other for many years but he betrayed me after getting to know a younger woman online. He also denied initally. He forsake me becos I was down with an illness thus couldn't work fulltime job.
Lying may spell problem.

ok first things first... all guys lie. all guys. what would be the point of telling you the truth if there is a chance you would be mad... see he didn't do it to hurt you he did it to spare your feelings. men don't have many feelings but we know that women do. so we lie so as not to hurt them. 2nd men lie we will never learn our lesson it is no reason to end things or not trust it wasn't physical it was harmless chatting and if the poor guy honestly begged for forgiveness then he is truly sorry. it is in a mans nature to flirt or look at other women. with out being rude it is just something you will have to get over.....

i don't think chatting on line is a big deal. but it seems to bother you.
my only advise to you is: don't get married to him anytime soon. when you get married, you want to be sure that you can spend the rest of your life with this person.

Flirting on-line is not cheating, and it shouldn't matter. But if you can't get over it, it's time to leave.
