If the Lord has called you to ministry, then you need earn a degree (usually a Masters in Divinity) at seminary. One major UMC seminary is "Asbury", located in Kentucky, I believe. I also know a woman (pastor) taking classes at a UMC seminary in Ohio.

Another way (once again, after receiving your M.Div), is to check online for openings at methodist churches. (that's how I found this gig).
But the main things you need first are:
1) a calling from the Lord to enter ministry
2) a seminary degree.
