During the panic attack your brain is sending out signals to the rest of your body preparing it for the "Fight or Flight" response.
Your heart rate increases, you hyperventilate, & your adrenaline increases. This will give you what you need to either fend off an attacker (Fight) or run like the dickens (Flight).
If instead you do neither "Fight or Flight" then the body has the adverse reaction you feel during the attack(s).
You may want to consider a "Mindfullness Based Stress Reduction" therapy.

When you have a panic attack your body releases a ton of Adrenalin, it is natures way of protecting you from danger, called the fight or flight response, this has different effects on people. I find it helpful if you can lay down and try to control your breathing and keep yourself from moving around and releasing more stress hormones, it should pass faster, you will feel weird and out of it because you have just been through a fight for your life as your body sees it.

i have them too. i use to have them bad when i was younger. i learned that it is only a panic attack and that i am not having a heart attack. once you realize it is only a panic attack and not something that Willl kill you, you wil be able to deal with it. a panic attack makes you scared and the more scared you get the worse the attack gets. stop being scared. it's only a panic attack and not a heart attack. believe me I've been through a bad one but as time goes on they get milder.

I suffer from panic attacks and it is all mental they say but when you have one it is not fun. You feel like you can't breathe and it sucks. Try to focus on something that makes you happy.

Panic attacks come from fear. Rid the fear in your life. Stay busy doing positive things and never dwell on the negative.

That's just a sign of it, trust me i know, i used to have them really bad. But the thing about cureing panic attacks is that you have to find out what is triggering them in the first place, and once you find that out, it's easy to control them because you can avoid things that trigger them, or prepare yourself mentally for them. I know they are definantly scary to experience, and i wish you luck.

You feel that way because your body is overloaded with adreneline (usually). You should talk to your Dr about it. Often finding out what is triggering the attacks and avoiding the triggers can stop them all together.

That's what happens in panic attacks.
make sure you see your doc about them just in case you have a cause for them, such as mitral valve prolapse.
