Try the following : do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read fitness magazines, like Shape and Fitness for motivation and tips.

Good luck and stick at it.

I can identify with the challenge you're facing. I began by reading a lot about nutrition and exercise. The biggest change was in my daily eating routine by eating 5 times per day. I chose LeanCuisine for lunch and dinner. For breakfast, I can eat the same thing most every day. That's cereal with 2% milk (I can't stand fat free milk). An apple or banana in between meals and drink lots of water, (I drink at least two quarts per day.)

It's very difficult to follow a routine that adds muscle and burns fat. To build muscle, you need to add calories, to lose fat, you need to cut calories.

The most effective way to burn fat is to start walking and don't cut your calories to the extreme. Start with a generous calorie alottment say 1500 to 1800 per day and each week cut down about 100 calories until you're losing between 1 and 3 pounds per week.

Build up the amount of time you're walking to walking 45 minutes per day. That's the most efficient way to burn fat and it's easier than cutting your calories to the bone.

The best tool you have is paper and pencil. Keep track of everything: What you've eaten, when and for how long you exercise. Weigh yourself once per week...Only once at the same time each weigh-in day, wearing the same clothes. Write down your new weight.

Above all, remember that it's not how much you weigh as how you feel and look. The scale is only a tool to keep you on track.

I happen to use a Bowflex, but when you're ready for some weight training, below link is a great place to get started.

Well, reisist the temptation to eat sweets and junk food. You can win half the battle here. Seek proper advice on balanced nutrition and good exercise methods from a qualified dietician or nutritionist. When you have the urge to over eat, just close your eyes for a few seconds, take a deep breath and say to yourself "I want to live long". Its a combined effort - resist temptation, seek proper advice and will power - that will help you.
(Btw, why do you want a killer body? Who do you want to kill? Have a beautiful body instead....)

You already know what is wrong with your eating habits so congrats. Doing something about it is a little harder but you can do it. I love sweets too but I handle them as a treat not as an everyday thing. Lots of water. Raw veggies with just a touch of ranch salad dressing is a really good snack and gives you fiber.

You really should go see your doctor so he can determine if you are healthy enough for excercize or just healthy enough to diet right now. He can tell you what your limits are not someone online. Good luck

Hi,
i use to be a super huge size too..Till once I determine myself to slim down within one month and i lose 10 Kg!!!
hmm.. i can understand the temptation of the fatty foods..
Probably u can draw out a timetable, and write down what exercise u have done and what food u have eat!!it is good for montioring. Everyday, u try to skip 100-500 times a day/running for 15mins non stp plus 50 -100times of sit up, and u can pick up a sports that u love and do it every weekend. For food wise,
Everyday before ur food try to drink more water so it could prevent u to eat more. And also try eating fishball beehoon soup or yong tau wo soup without noodles. I understand ur friends will be going to those fast food, don be tempted!(think again only for one month, one month u are out of this)u can eat green bean soup for snacks plus try to bring along some fruits when going out so if ur mouth is itch grab them instead of the sweets..
Maybe u will think it is real hard but think again it is only for one month!!! After one month u will have a body u always wanted.Put a cross everytime u completed one day,

Oh ya.. Don weight urself during the process.. cox u will keep thinking why its doesnt work.. Slimming down need time so don weight urself..only after u have completed the one month process then u weight urself, and u will be surprize.

one month later ......

(Blanks are for u to complete...)

Good Luck to U =)

I'm workign on this, too. I had my last baby 9 months ago... I started winsor pilates (bought a dvd), the circle workout, 2 months ago and have dropped 2 sizes... i started out as a 9. The heavier you are the faster you lose, typically. Also, watch what you eat. Up your protein, but don't cut out carbs. Dieting is calories in, calories out- burn more than you take in, and you lose. Eat more than you burn, you gain. Good luck!
