The Bible is very clear that people who die either go to heaven or hell. No in between, purgatory, etc. So what is the deal with ghosts? I believe that they are demons that impersonate loved ones that have passed. They do this so that we will believe in something other than what God's word says. Think about it! Will you belive in the Bible if you have seen your late uncle in your house? Satans #1 job is to throw us off course and onto something other than God's plan of salvation. he is the father of lies and will decieve us in many ways. Are ghosts one of these ways?

This is a very thought-provoking idea and question. It is true that Satan is the deciever, and it's possible that he would use his demons as ghosts to impersonate our deceased loved ones in order to draw us away from God. I'm not sure all ghosts are demons sent to deceive us though. I really don't know much about ghosts and don't care to learn more. It's just not something I think about. Most of the information about ghosts I've encountered has been on TV, and who knows if that is true. I did see a show once though that made me wonder if the spirits of the deceased clung to the world because of some emotional attachment. Maybe they just couldn't let go of whatever they were hung up on, and so they stayed on Earth until they accomplished their goals. I really have no idea and probably shouldn't be attempting to answer this question.

I have never believed in ghosts but I have an experience when once I was coming down the stairs at home I thought I had seen my aunt go out to the back garden so I followed her but suddenly she got lost in the darkness. I called her name out loud but in seconds she responded me but she was inside her room. Till this day I always keep wondering what the heck I had seen. There was something moving but it wasn't who I thought it was. Maybe it was just my imagination. Regarding demons, I think they exist but only in spirits. I think they are the ones who cause people to murder or also cause horrible accidents like people being ran over. This might not answer your question about ghosts but just ask yourself why there is alot of violence in this crazy world. Maybe it is ghosts that make this things happen since they are mad they can't be alive.

The Bible also speaks of a witch of Endor who brings back the spirit of Samuel to earth at Saul's request (1Samuel 28) Also, when the disciples see Jesus walking on water, the Bible says they were terrified because they thought HE was a ghost. Though definitely not anything to be revered or worshiped, I do beleive that spiritsof the dead do, on occasion return to earth for various purposes. I would not go so far as to compare them to the "ghosts" we see in many horror films.

Have you ever seen a ghost that was not on TV? If you have then you are either delusional or a lire. There are no such things as ghost or demons, all of these things come from with in our selves, the fears and hopes we have inside of our selves.

Ghosts are imaginary. People's brains are huge pattern recognition machines. One thing it's honed to recognize is human faces and human voices. That's a survival trait. It works so well, it will see faces and hear voices when they aren't there. That's how we can see faces in clouds. It's also what makes a squeaky door into an otherworldly moan.

Read your Bible again and get your facts straight. When you die you do not go to heaven or to hell. For one thing there is no hell. When Christ died, He went into the grave(hades) but at the Resurrection His soul left the grave(hades,Acts 2:27,31 Biblically, hell is " the place and state of punishment and destruction, by eternal fire in the second death, of those who reject God and the offer of salvation in Jesus Christ.

Simply souls who have left the body but haven't gone into the Light. They are trapped in the void until they finally choose to go into the Light.
