Whitish yellow spots after sun exposure.... Could be
1) Sun allergy... Seen only on the sun exposed areas of the body. May be a little itchy.
2) Fungal infection called Pityriasis versicolor. can appear as dry dots or patches in varying colours of whicish, yellow, brown, black.
You need to see a dermatologist as the treatment would vary.

Use the sunscreen more often. Reapply 2-3 times daily every 3 hours atleast. This will protect against sun allergy. For the allergy a mild cortisone cream should help... But cortisone will worsen the fungal infection.
For the fungal infection... you use Selsun Blue or Nizral shampoo as body wash on that areas

Both should settle down in 3-6 weeks with proper treatment. But you need to see the dermatoogist before that.

This could be the beginning of an immune system diease called Vitiligo. It first appears as small white circles on the face or arms, then the spots enlarge and start to appear on the backs of the hands, the elbows, the knees and the tops of the feet. Usually the spots are symmetrical, appearing on both sides of the body. If you can see a dermatologist, you can get shots to replace the pigment, but after time, too much pigment disappears and the shots will not help.

In some cases, like Michael Jackson, the pigment goes away completely.

There is a condition the local folks in Hawaii get like you describe, and they call it "haole rot". Their folk remedy is applying Selsun Blue brand dandruff shampoo to their skin. Don't know if it works.

We are twins! Just kidding.... I am a golfer and fisherman and yes they will come on. I used to remove/blend them in with vinegar and a damp towel.
